Hi my name’s Jamee, I’m a 17 year old girl who just graduated from high school. When growing up I was never told of the bad damaging affects of dying my hair so I did it for many years and now for the past 3 years my hair has only grown 2 inches and either breaks off or falls out. My hair has become very very thin and I now wear hair extensions everyday because of the insecurity I feel. I have very oily hair and don’t know what dry shampoo products are good for someone like me so I usually wash my hair everyday. I get my hair cut as regularly as it should but its still no use. I wash my hair in cold water and have used different techniques while washing, none have helped. I’m scared I’ll have to wear a wig when I’m older, and having to buy extensions and take care of them has become such a hassle. I feel like because I dyed my hair so much, it did something to my roots and I don’t know what to do. However, I do not have a very good eating diet and would like tips on that. I plan on using a lot of these natural remedies, if anyone has any input to helping me that would be extremely appreciated. 🙂

Hey guys, thanks for the fantastic tips in this article! I didn’t know prior to the benefits of coconut oil on hair as I found it very sticky and hard to style my hair. It was my mother who would regularly apply this on weekends I guess it was an indian practice but I’m glad that she did and now I know the benefits. I can grow 1-1.5 inches per month. Thought my whole 16 years I been trying everything for my hair growth but nothing works for me but as soon as I read this I figure should I give it a try because I want my hair to grow thicker and longer before my senior year on June 3 I’m going to go cut it and I really really hope u guys can recommend me some shampoos and conditioners to use because I really Wang my hair long ??

These remedies do work! I apply beaten eggs to my hair once every week and olive oil works wonders too! Adding a few cloves of garlic to the olive oil for a week or two before you use it makes it even better! I have thick long brown hair which reaches just past my waistline. And I’m 5’8, so well you can guess how long that must be. 🙂

Hi Vinita, yes hair specialists do say you shouldn’t wash every day but everyone is different. Some days I do wash my hair every day butI try to cut it down to every other day. I would suggest using the oil on days when you want to wash your hair the next morning, and simply omit the oil on days when you do not want to wash your hair. You can do the inversion method without oil too – I hope that helps 🙂

One of the reasons ur hair is falling is because u wash it everyday. That makes ur hair fall Very Very badly. I’ll give u some tips that worked for me. I had very curly, thin and short hair but now I have thick hair which falls to my waist! This is wat I use: castor oil mixed with almond oil (or olive oil) I use this everyday or sometimes after every 2 days. And also the shampoo and conditioner that I use and realllllllly helped me are Mane ‘n Tail- if u live in uae or india (asia basically) u can get them at Spinney’s- and I use egg for my hair and if ur growing out ur hair then STAY AWAY FROM HEAT (hair straighteners, blow dryers etc) because trust me, if u use heat on ur hair it will not grow quickly. Especially for people with curly hair. And do not use hair sprays or heat protectants they really damage ur hair and make it dry.
