Very interesting article Dr. Josh. My doctor recommended hair oil (Kerala Ayurvedic Product) from Amazon which really worked well for me. I hope this may be useful for any of your followers. I would be very happy if this oil works for anyone.
If you’re using heat tools every day whether that be hot irons or the hair-dryer, try to cut down on using them while you are doing the Inversion Method. Heat can weaken your hair so even just alternating or going an extra day without heat can dramatically improve the condition of your hair.
Thank You Dr. Axe. I appreciate some of the info in your articles and all the help about the essential oils. However my diet for the past 4 years has been everything you mention for getting hair back and I even purchased a program from another site and all of it is a total waste of time and money. Nothing worked for my hair. Hair loss is a very personal thing for many men and it is certainly a way to get attention by mentioning that you can reverse it. So many scams. Maybe it is a heredity issue but they all say that doesn’t matter..This stuff does NOTHING for my hair..As I mentioned I have been on this diet for over 4 years to help heal prostate cancer and I recently added your Rosemary and cedarwood for the past 6 months and NO difference..Also..I have NEVER heard from anyone at all that this has worked for them..You would think that if something really worked people and their friends would certainly want to let them know…NOT the case..never heard anything good about any hair rejuvination products..NEVER
The other currently approved drug for hair loss is Propecia (generic name, finasteride). It works only for men. Why? It keeps the male sex hormone testosterone from forming its DHT by-product. DHT signals shorten the growth phase — and lengthen the rest stage — of hormone-sensitive follicles.
And honestly, I’m no expert about what women want in a man, but I’m pretty sure that a good 90% of them couldn’t care less how much hair you have, as long as you’re not an entitled idiot and respect them as people: kind of like how most interpersonal relationships work really, just with less hair. Look at Jason Statham – he’s never had any problems attracting women, and he’s one of the baldest guys around.
It is truly shocking just how many people skipped reading the article and just went straight to the comments to ask what advice there was to help them grow their hair. I have to wonder if they are just that lazy or did they assume the better recommendations were being withheld for some reason (which would be a ridiculous thing to do) and the article just gave generic advice? Did they imagine the writer saved the best advice for themselves but it would then be shared if asked about it in a comment? The article and all the comments took me just over 6 minutes to read so it’s no wonder that the school system is being criticized and that there is a definate lag behind other countries when it comes to education. It’s crazy. Have a great day!
This is true. I only recently started to use oils on my hair and used to had dandruff -not any more! my hair where unmanageable but seem to be much better now. In use combinations of castor, almond, olive and coconut oil used them for both hair face and body in different way and I am in LOVE with oils.
I have fine blond hair. I have tried 100′s of products. Some hairdressers over process. (if you ask for a weave, ask for 5 foils, not a partial or full weave) avoid over processing. And, do not use that hot flat iron on your hair.
The range includes a Hair Treatment, Shampoo, Conditioner and Leave-In Conditioner. What natural supplement or remedy will lower high blood pressure and also something that really works for constipation I have struggled with this for yrs and cannot find anything that really works for a longer period of time. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s actually a normal thing for hair to fall out. Hair starts its life with a long growing phase, and usually about 80% of our hair is in this phase at any given time. But other hairs are getting ready to leave our heads.
But hey – whoa there, Dr Hawkshaw. Some of us aren’t actually “suffering” from hair loss. Some of us bald guys are enjoying not having any hair, and see no need for this new treatment, and in fact see you scientists constantly trying to cleanse the world of our rugged, sensitive, yet ultimately hairless look as something of an insult.
if washing would be the reason then let me explain i hope u wud be washing ur face everyday why dont your eyebrows or eyelashes start falling very badly. applying egg is height of stupidity. the only solution is start eating proteinaceous things. hairs do not have pores through egg or other thing can enter and heal them.
Why egg yolk? Yolk is mostly fats. It may add fatrnmess/soiftness to hair, but if you are after protein (and I am not sure if topical application will actually add to real hair) the albumin is good protein,,,,in a _fresh_ egg….
Alopcia areata is not related to a more serious condition known as cicatricial alopecia, in which the immune system attacks the stem cells in the bulge of the folicle. This results in permanent hair loss.
Usually, you can easily decipher density by simply looking in the mirror. If you can see traces of your scalp when your hair is in its natural state, it’s highly likely that you have low density. As for thickness, if you take a single strand between your fingers and feel absolutely nothing, chances are your strands are fine.
Hi there, I know what you mean. I apply coconut oil at night and then shampoo it out in the morning which does the trick for me. How about halving the amount of oil you are applying? You don’t need as much as you think – coconut oil is extremely moisturising even in small doses.
“The best candidate for hair restoration surgery has had hair loss for a number of years but has stabilized and is not losing more hair quickly,” Kaufman says. “A person needs to have realistic expectations of what can be done to give them a natural appearing hair line.”
But through everything I learned, Lemon truly does help with hair growth. I can’t even describe it with the proper words it deserves. It leaves that soft, shining texture and color. it allows your hair to look free.. and… Just see for yourself, will you? And personally, i believe that one-day-over-ripe-day is the best way (:
Oh no sorry to hear that, how frustrating for you! I definitely recommend the scalp massage using some natural oils like coconut or olive oil. Try this every day for 5 minutes once a day for a week and let me know how you get on.
Hi Lewis! Thanks for joining the discussion. I have a similar problem in that my hair at the back of my head take longer to grow than the front! I would try the inversion method and concentrate on these areas alone so you’ll be boosting the blood flow around the sides. Make sure you measure your hair before and after to see whether it’s worked on not. Remember, massage those sides every day for five minutes for seven days.

A little farther up the follicle is the mysterious feature called the bulge. That’s where follicle stem cells live. When they get the right set of chemical signals, these self-renewing cells divide. They don’t divide like normal cells, in which both halves become new cells that keep splitting and developing. Only one half of the follicle stem cell does that. The other half becomes a new stem cell, and stays put for future regeneration.

To fight free radical damage and protect the hair from aging, fill up on vitamin C foods like oranges, red peppers, kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, strawberries, grapefruit and kiwi. If you need supplementation, take 500–1,000 milligrams of vitamin C twice daily as an antioxidant.
A 2011 study published in the British Journal of Dermatology examined the ability of a leave-on combination including panthenol, the alcohol analog of pantothenic acid, to affect the diameter and behavior of individual terminal scalp hair fibers. The treatment significantly increased the diameter of individual, existing terminal scalp fibers. It also thickened hair fibers and increased the pliability, giving the hairs better ability to withstand force without breaking. (4)
Hey! In somewhere in may I had got a layered hair cut. I liked it but then started not liking it after 3 months so I cut it again into a layers. when the stylist cut my it was horrible. Absolutely horrible. I felt like crying because my hair was ruined. My friends made fun of me because of my hair. After 4 months it grew. And I cut it straight but the hairs on the top of my head were still very short. (About 4 inches difference between my top hair and low hair) It still looks horrible so I had to clip the top hair up. The next month later I again cut my hair straight. This all happened in December and now it’s 23ed Feb 2016. My hair still looks weird. I’m desperate for my top hair to grow faster. I have just tried to heat up coconut oil and message my scalp with it. I also tie my hair into two plaits. Could you please give me some tips on how to grow my top hair faster? I want it Atleast 4 inches long but quickly. If you know Lindsey Stirling you’ll see that her top hair is very short from her bottom hair. Please reply as soon as.possible.
“There’s something magical about it,” says Santiago. Flip your head upside down and gather your hair into a ponytail, then twist into a coil. (Need more guidance? Check out these tutorials.) Santiago seals down flyways with Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Edge Control Smoother. “It’s so amazing and works on every hair type,” she says.
I really appreciate the information on your website regarding hair loss. I have tried the various supplements in your videos and articles for hair loss but I haven’t had much successes at stopping my continued thinning. I am a 45 yo man and while not completely bald yet, I am losing my hair in the typical male pattern of hereditary hair loss. My older brother by about 5 years has lost all his hair on top and I believe I will follow in this condition.
To put it plainly, thick refers to the actual width of a single strand of hair, while density is how closely packed the hair follicles are on your scalp. Hair can have high density, which is when there’s a lot of strands growing near each other, or have low density, which is when the follicles are more spaced out on the scalp. Usually, straight strands tend to be denser than tight curls or afro hair.
Even though modern folklore, and even some limited scientific studies, have suggested that the mother’s side of the family is largely responsible for a genetic predisposition toward baldness, the truth is balding is not all our mothers’ fault. In fact, doctors now say baldness patterns are inherited from a combination of many genes on both sides of the family. There are some environmental factors that come into play, too.
Demodex folliculorum is a mite that lives on the face. For most people, their presence is harmless. However, in larger numbers, they can cause skin problems. To use coconut oil for getting thicker hair naturally, massage a bit of warmed coconut oil into the scalp and hair and cover with a hot towel. Get the towel hot by running it under hot water and ringing out all excess water. This will ensure that the oil stays heated while penetrating the hair shaft. Leave this on for thirty minutes and then rinse and wash with a mild shampoo. This can be repeated every few days to get hair that is both thicker and healthier.
