Hello, I have been struggling with my hair for about 4 months now. Back in May I had decided to go back to my natural hair color from being platinum blonde. My natural is an ashy dark dirty blonde. Unfortunately doing it at home was my first mistake, and I ended up with red hair. I went to my old high school which has a salon with students working in it, which was my second mistake. They got my hair to a more manageable color but cut off around 3-4 inches when I only wanted 1 inch off. I was devastated.. and my hair was very very dry and thin and lifeless everywhere except about 5 inches on the top of my head. Since then I have added a lot more blonde highlights to get closer to my natural color as it wasn’t going a weird orange red color from the previous red dye. It has gotten a lot more moisturized and feels much less dry since then, but regardless is still very stringy and lifeless looking and very hard to style and maintain volume. The natural state of my hair has never been very volumous , but when I had bleached it the texture changed and it felt a lot thicker. I desperately want that hair back but cannot bleach my hair in this state.. so the only thing I can really do is grow it all out again till I have my natural 100% hair back to bleach it again , with caution to have minimal damage. I have been taking hairbrush vitamins, a b-complex vitamin, as well as trying to drink more water and eat more of the right foods. I’ve also recently started doing a castor oil and coconut oil leave in treatment, which has made it feel stronger. Do you have any advice for me? I am just so desperate to feel some weight to my hair.. it feels like air when I move my head back and forth and doesn’t even feel like it’s there. I also have parts on the top of my head on the right side that got burned off from bleaching back in January this year, they have grown about 6 inches out now but look very odd and stick out unless I straighten them with light heat. I don’t straighten any other parts of my hair anymore as I used to every day and that definitely contributed to the damage I face now. I used to have such beautiful long healthy hair and my confidence has mostly diminished because of all this. I am just desperate to feel like myself again. Thank you for taking the time to read 🙂
Hi there Xander. I’m glad you had faith to trust out tutorial! We really have had lots of success with it and I hope you do too. The one thing I would mention is that when doing the inversion method, it’s extremely important to hang your head low. This forces blood to rush to the head which helps to stimulate the hair follicles and promote growth. Do let us know how you got on – we can’t wait to see the results! 🙂
Instant hair thickeners are becoming widely available. Coloured sprays and creams can be used to colour the scalp and give the appearance of thicker hair. Another option is Nanogen, tiny keratin fibres which bind to your hair making it thicker, but wash off easily. These are a more flexible solution that transplants.
Hi Rach really sorry to hear about your predicament! Please follow the advice outlined in the article to help boost hair growth. You should hopefully notice a different with the inversion method and a change in your diet to more Biotin-rich foods. Good luck!
Hi Rebecca SO pleased that you’ve benefitted from the tips in the article! I can’t recommend both coconut oil and scalp massage enough – they work absolute wonders for your hair health. So happy for you, just a bit of commitment and you really can see an improvement. Thanks for leaving such a lengthy comment, really made my day and I will try the mask with yogurt and honey too. All the best with your hair journey! Anushka
hi Anushka! , plz help me , my hair is reAlly short and i need it to grow quickly in the next week bcuz i have a big party and i definetly want to look awesome! but my hair is really horrible because i had a short haircut so pleeeeeeeeeeeeease help me as fast as u see this! thx
Hi Suzanne! Thanks for your comments, I’ve had a short hair cut and while it was a nice change I did find it incredibly hard to manage! I am a big fan of oils, in general, to be honest, I agree cold pressed castor oil is fantastic for eyelashes and hair but in my personal experience I didn’t find that it worked better or less than coconut or olive oil. But, having said that I do know people who swear by it. I would say it’s not an exact science so whichever you prefer and works for you. I like to get mini bottles wherever possible and figure out what works for me.
The hair on your head grows about six inches per year on average, or about half an inch per month. Each hair grows for about two to six years then stops and enters the telogen phase, during which it is gradually shed. On average, you lose about 50 to 100 hairs per day. Often, the growth cycle of the follicle starts over and a new hair begins to grow in after one is shed. Consult your dermatologist for more information about hair growth.
I am dealing with hairline close to my forehead the hair just isn’t wanting to grow at all. Several people have said that my hair is damaged and fried an that there is nothing that I can do; I have been eating a ton of fruits and vegetables but I haven’t noticed a difference at all what more can I do for my hair, I am open to any suggestions or ideas that might help because I have been extremely embarrassed about my hair I’ve been walking around wearing a giant black headband.

Hey, I’m not very old but my hair has really been suffering….I had been skipping conditioner, using a lot of shampoo, showering in steaming hot water, and not getting my hair cut for maybe even over a year! I have been following these tips for about a month. My favorite meathod is using the coconut oil. My parents buy it for the dogs food, (to keeps their coat healthy, your welcome mom?), so I use it as well. Thank you soooo much for the tips. My hair has grown ALOT!
Can help u so use olive oil or any type of oil soak the oil in your hair for at least 20-30 min this will prevent no itchy scalp or thin hair wash the oil out or leave it in overnight them wash with a mild shampoo and will be as light as a feather thanks hope this comment/suggestion worked bye xxxxx ??????
One of the trial subjects was a 25-year-old male who, as well as suffering from psoriasis, had been completely bald since the age of 18 due to severe alopecia areata, a condition commonly known as “spot baldness”.
This look is extremely versatile and complements most face shapes well. It has lots of texture which allows it to be worn well styled or just left alone to dry. The haircut works best for someone with thicker hair and the long fringe is flattering for a prominent forehead or someone who has grey around the hairline and wants to stretch their color a little longer.
Getting regular trims gives you the appearance of having thicker hair. In the long run, regularly trimming the hair also helps your hair grow healthy from root to tip. This is also among the most amazing tips on how to grow thick hair naturally at home in one month that I would like to share in the entire article today and people should not skip at all costs!
Disclaimer: What has worked for me may not work for you, but I found all these elements together helped my hair grow over an inch in a week and I also found a lot of new hairs on the crown and around my hairline.
The speed at which your hair grows can depend on two things: genetics and the shape of your follicles. Asian hair is on average the thickest and most coarse hair compared to Caucasian and African hair. Now I am of Asian descent but my mother has very thin hair while my father has very thick hair. I have a combination of both their hair so I have thick hair strands but unfortunately not much of them!
I started eating Chia seeds and I have been amazed at how thick my hair has come in at the age of 56. 2 TBLS. a day soaked in liquid first. Read on the web all the wonderful things Chia seeds can do! IT’S ALL TRUE!!
Massaging your scalp regularly with cold-pressed castor oil is one of the easiest ways to get thicker hair naturally. Due to its high viscosity, it coats the hair thoroughly and protects against hair fall. This oil has high amounts of vitamin E and fatty acids, that promote hair growth.
I have recently had my hair bleached for the first time. I was not planning to do it, but it turned out that my hairdresser didn’t understand me. Half of my hair was bleached ( at the bottom), and some parts of my hair was bleached at the roots. Yesterday I noticed that the bleached parts were starting to break off, and I am very worried that eventually all of the hair that was bleached at the top will break off before new hair grows. If that would happen it would be terrible, since my hair is already thin and will look completely see-through. Will all the bleached hair break off?
“People may still think of the wigs they would have seen in the 1970s or 1980s, very heavy, unnatural looking, more like an item of clothing. The latest systems are nothing like that at all,” says Jessica.

Limit how often you wash your hair if it’s more dry & course wash it once a week , if it’s more on the greasy side wash it 2 – 3 times a week , I have noticed the difference in my hair by washing it less.
I think that they should because all of these things provide nutrients to your hair and your scalp is very needy so you just have to be careful. I have been in the Beauty Industry for over 30 years and coconut oil should work the most;I HIGHLY recommend this tip.
As for styling products from the wet to dry phase, I recommend a blow dry cream/serum like Bumble and bumble’s Repair Blow Dry. This product works for all textures of hair and is heat activated. It will smooth out the hair shaft and give better results for second and third-day hair.
It is truly shocking just how many people skipped reading the article and just went straight to the comments to ask what advice there was to help them grow their hair. I have to wonder if they are just that lazy or did they assume the better recommendations were being withheld for some reason (which would be a ridiculous thing to do) and the article just gave generic advice? Did they imagine the writer saved the best advice for themselves but it would then be shared if asked about it in a comment? The article and all the comments took me just over 6 minutes to read so it’s no wonder that the school system is being criticized and that there is a definate lag behind other countries when it comes to education. It’s crazy. Have a great day!
You want to open pores to clean your scalp which luke warm water will do, then close the cuticles which will help reduce hair loss and frizz. So ensure you finish washing your hair with a blast of cold water.

Hey, I would try out the henna method. Question is how often I am suppose to do this treatment? I have tried so many methods and nothing worked out. I would appreciate if my doubts are cleared. Thanks a million!
As we discussed earlier, hair begins to grow from the root in the bottom of the follicle which is made up of cells of protein. So to make it simple – we need to eat a protein-rich diet, but for faster hair growth you need need to be making sure you’re eating Biotin-rich foods too in order to facilitate the building blocks of protein.
Hi Heidi, that’s exactly it. The massage provides increased blood flow to the hair follicle which boosts growth, if you did it constantly then it wouldn’t be as effective. Massage is brilliant for hair health anyway so it won’t hurt to massage your hair daily but if you’re after rapid growth then you need a break in between.
Hi Taylor. I would say, from personal experience, the inversion method is the most effective for hair GROWTH. If you want to maintain your hair health and growth, I would advise a coconut oil treatment too as it nourishes the hair and keeps it healthy. I hope this helps 🙂
I know this is not really part of the article, but if my hair has lots of split ends that reaches to my scalp, do I have no choice but to chop it off? My hair is at shoulder length and it has been like that for 2 years and it’s the same length. My hair is not that fried but it’s pretty damaged. I did the unthinkable and I chopped off the side hairs underneath to let them grow healthy and fresh again. It kinda looks stupid now but will this help me of getting the short hairs long again? Any tips?
