So I may be the only male in this section but what the heck. My hairstyle is the very bland side parting/quiff which I’ve had for years now and I just want a change! I get regular haircuts which may be every 2-3 weeks but it seems that if I leave my hair longer than this it just stops growing on the sides especially. Any tips would be appreciated as I am hoping to just grow the sides to get an evenly proportioned haircut!!
My was really good and healthy 3 years ago. with time I started ironing my and using heat a lot so my is thinning its weak and I also feel like its lifeless (although its not). I started growing it by using natural oils and it did work but my hair is naturally oily and it made more oily and greasy but I did not care because it worked but at some point my hair stopped responding to the natural oil treatments and i also tried watching my diet but I think I was doing it wrong. When I see my hair 3 years back it was so healthy it was not oily or greasy it was thick. I hope you can tell me about more treatments!!!
According to a research about the effects of stress on your hair , stress can be one of the main causes of hair loss. So, you should try to calm down your life, and you will find that your hair starts growing thicker. For example, you can try meditation that may help you find how to deal with your stress better.
This look is very low maintenance. Because of the Balayage highlight technique I used, she can go three to four months without a touch up because it looks so natural! She can blow dry it with a round brush to recreate the style I gave her, or throw some leave-in conditioner and a styling cream in for some natural texture.
Hi Jodie. Glad to hear you’re going to try some of our hair-growth tips! I would start with 1 heaped tablespoon of coconut oil and go from there – you want to make sure your hair is fully saturated. Brand-wise, organic, unrefined is best. Coconut oil is only available in solid form – it’s solid at room temperature. To liquify it, simply massage in your hands before applying to hair. I hope this helps 🙂
Mix one tablespoon of Indian gooseberry or amla powder in two tablespoons of coconut oil and heat until boiling. Strain the oil and massage it onto your scalp before going to bed. The next morning, shampoo your hair as usual. Do this on a weekly basis.
Isn’t true that Biotin makes B5 absorption close to impossible? So taking a B Complex vitamin ensures that you get neither enough biotin, nor Vitamin B5, because they are mutually exclusive in terms of absorption.
Thanks for the comments! Happy to hear you like the blog post. Coconut oil is fantastic, I love it for many uses. Make sure you check out my article on the other uses – https://experthometips.com/21-clever-uses-for-coconut-oil-that-may-surprise-you
The researchers found that of the nine patients with iron deficiency anemia, eight had telogen hair loss. The mean ferritin (a protein in the body that binds to iron) level was statistically significantly lower in patients with diffuse telogen hair loss than in subjects without hair loss. The study suggests that women with an iron deficiency are at a higher risk of hair loss, and serum ferritin levels below or equal to 30 milligrams/milliliter are strongly associated with telogen hair loss. I also remind my guests that this type of double process service must be done slowly and that they must commit to using Aveda’s Damage Remedy line at home to ensure the hair is at its healthiest. Healthy hair enables my guests to change their hair color more often.
Another option is to mix one-quarter cup of warm water in one-half cup of Indian gooseberry powder and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Apply the paste on your hair and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it off. Do not shampoo your hair for a few hours. Follow this remedy every few weeks.
What it does: Applied to the scalp, this liquid formula aims to improve circulation, ward off free-radical damage, and counteract hormonal activity that can have a slowing effect on your hair-growth cycle.
Try olaplex treatments. Stop heat styling for a while, rinse in the shower with cold water. Use cold air with the blow dryer. Use quality salon shampoo and conditioner AND leave in conditioner. Eat fruits and vegetables daily, protein at every meal. Take a daily multivitamin and omega 3 fish or krill oil. (Do not take omega 6 or 9 is it unnecessary.) And most of all patience – it will grow back!
There aren’t many studies on the effects of protein, keratin, and vitamins on hair health. One study looked at a product that had 500 milligrams of keratin and other vitamins and minerals. The group that took the supplement showed:
i also have done hair smoothing because my hair was very curly and very short (about 9inch only ) but doing a proper haircare and these remedies help me to grow my hair faster(now my hair is35inch long)
Researchers at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran studied the relationship between iron body status and different types of hair loss. They conducted an analytical case-control study to assess whether diffuse telogen hair loss in women between the ages of 15 and 45 is associated with iron deficiency — 30 women with documented telogen hair loss were compared with 30 women without hair loss.
Love your blog, informative and very interesting, especially to those people who are into taking good care of their hair. I agree with you about coconut oil, I’ve been using it for years now and it never stop to amaze me especially to what it did to my hair. Thank you for sharing.

The range of treatments and therapies available to combat hair loss has increased dramatically in the past 10 years, from natural-look prosthetics to hair-thickening sprays and the transplants, which can cost between €10k and €20k.
Hi Smita, Great to hear you are going to try the inversion method, let me know how it goes and don’t forget to measure it before and after. I don’t have any pics but I am definitely going to take some the next time I do the inversion method and add them to this post. I also get a lot of hair loss, try massaging very lightly and reduce the amount of times you wash your hair every week. Perhaps try washing your hair every 2 days?
In most people, scalp hair growth will halt due to follicle devitalization after reaching a length of generally two or three feet. Exceptions to this rule can be observed in individuals with hair development abnormalities, which may cause an unusual length of hair growth.
These days, high-end wigs are based on mesh systems, which use real human hair, coloured and cut to match the person’s natural hair and can stand up to anything from a vigorous gym session to a swim in the sea. Prices for a hair replacement system start at around €1,000 but can go significantly higher. With modern wigs, there are Fords and there are Ferraris.
Spinach is an important vegetable for hair growth because it’s high in protein and vitamins A and C which your body needs in order to produce sebum to moisturise your scalp. A deficiency in these vitamins can result in brittle hair or even hair loss so make sure you are eating plenty of spinach in your diet.
For what it’s worth, I had a holistic doctor tell me that my-and his-blood type (A+) required me to avoid meat which caused my thinning via seborrheic dermatitis. Seeing some results so far with this.
I recommend this look to anyone that would like a change without having to commit to high maintenance upkeep. This look is very flattering for many face shapes and since it is so easy to maintain, can work for many lifestyles.
To use coconut oil for getting thicker hair naturally, massage a bit of warmed coconut oil into the scalp and hair and cover with a hot towel. Get the towel hot by running it under hot water and ringing out all excess water. This will ensure that the oil stays heated while penetrating the hair shaft. Leave this on for thirty minutes and then rinse and wash with a mild shampoo. This can be repeated every few days to get hair that is both thicker and healthier.
As one of the country’s leading hair-transplant surgeons, Dr Collins is an advocate of the surgical route to combating hair-loss. And he says surgical methods have moved on greatly since the early days of unsightly “hair-plugs” in the 1980s.

Well kimp, English that isn’t in the form of broken texting would have a better result. But to be serious you can’t cure being naturally bald just slowing the process of thinning and balding faster then you would. So in short this cant help something your body’s genetic code gave up on, as it eans as you age whatever random code is at the bottom breaks and dies off in some cases it’s hair color or eye sight and yes balding. hope this helped clear up your problem.

In a 2013 study, researchers evaluated the role of zinc status in each of the four types of hair loss, including alopecia areata, male pattern hair loss, female pattern hair loss and telogen effluvium. In all of the hair loss patients, the mean serum zinc was significantly lower than the control group. The analysis of each group showed that all groups of hair loss had statistically lower zinc concentration, especially the alopecia areata group. The data led to the hypothesis of zinc metabolism disturbances playing a key role in hair loss. (2)
But through everything I learned, Lemon truly does help with hair growth. I can’t even describe it with the proper words it deserves. It leaves that soft, shining texture and color. it allows your hair to look free.. and… Just see for yourself, will you? And personally, i believe that one-day-over-ripe-day is the best way (:
Similarly out of fashion are flap-type procedures, where a flap of hair from a hair-bearing area is partially removed, swung around, and attached to a frontal area. But this can lead to scarring or death or a portion of the scalp.
Most of the factors that control hair growth are out of our day-to-day control. The best step you can take is to prevent hair loss and thinning due to poor nutrition. Be sure to eat a balanced diet and stay hydrated. Check in with your doctor if you feel that you are experiencing significant hair loss.

“Just dampen it a little bit, not so much that it’s supersopping wet—you don’t want There’s Something About Mary stiff hair,” says Santiago. “But a small amount of spray helps seal the cuticles, takes away some of the static, and keeps all the hair together. Start your brushing underneath your hair, as opposed to the top of your head—that will help you avoid crunchy-looking strands too.”
Hi Airyeez, thanks for taking the time to write to me and sharing your thoughts on the article and the tips. I recommend the inversion method a lot (even though I can’t guarantee it will work for everyone) because it’s free, it’s easy to do and it worked for me. I think it’s fairly easy to try out, and there is no cost involved if you do it without oil, so it is my go-to tip! I firmly believe diet is really important too which is why I ask people to follow the tips in the article – some people may not be able to implement all but diet and scalp massage is really beneficial not just for hair growth but healthy hair and body. Good luck with your hair growth, I really hope you’ll notice a difference. Please keep me updated!
With each latest health supplement trend, manufacturers very quickly begin to create products that they claim are the best on the market or the most effective, even manipulating the facts to claim that it is the doctor’s #1 choice.
Hello Ma’m, I’ve got a shaggy haircut and now my hair about 6″ and I want my upto 12″ in 2 months, and that’s what wanted to ask that, is it possible to have such a long growth in such a short time, if I’ll try the above methods?
At age 50, I get constant comments on my thick, long, shiny hair. You can see my photos on Facebook if you keyword laurel leigh anderson. My hair became thicker, shinier and grew faster when I went on a High Fat Low Carb Ketogenic diet with low starch, and no sugar. (Keyword “Dr. Eric Westman HFLC” on youtube to learn details.) I went on this diet to lose weight, and I lost 44 lbs. but at the same time, something changed regarding the suddenly much faster, thicker hair growth. It was a noticeable but welcome side effect. If you think about it, it makes sense. Hair is made of keratin which is protein and it becomes shiny and well moisturized because of nutritional fats and oils in the diet. Eating a bunch of sugar, and starchy carbs is not helpful to thick, shiny hair. Overconsumption of carbs leads to diabetes which causes hair loss. If you want your hair to grow, you need protein, oils and fats. Hair is damaged by heat from blow drying and hot irons and the natural oils are stripped out by soaps, surfactants and detergents. I also suggest brushing very very gently, starting at the tips and working back upwards to the scalp with a wide tooth hair pick, and do not brush 100 strokes at bed time or anything like that. I also suggest staying away from chemicals, perms, relaxers and weaves. Do not use cheap rubber bands, do not rip chop pull or tug, do not let the beautician “thin” your hair with shears, nor chop and cut. Instead, just give the beauty shop a rest while you focus on your nutritional status at home. If you see a woman with thinning hair, and you talk to her you will soon learn that they are typically type II diabetic and or “insulin resistant.” Men are a different tale because they may simply have male pattern baldness, but in woman there is one main cause for hair loss: diabetes. Many of these hair loss woman are typically overweight yet malnourished, with a non dewey, haggard and worn looking complexion. If you carefully observe such an overweight woman with thinning hair, you will see them eating candy, drinking soft drinks, eating potatoes, french fries, pasta, rice, breads, parties, chips, so on and so forth. The overwhelming carbohydrate load leads to all her problems: her obesity, her diabetes, her malnutrition, and her hair loss. Supplements I recommend for hair growth include Biotin, MCT oil, Multi B Complex vitamins and Omega 3 and D-3. I also don’t think washing the hair a whole lot is a great plan because strip the oils, and dries it out. Washing daily won’t really help the hair to grow, but if you must wash it, just sparingly soap the crown, and do it every second or third day. Personally, I like the “Agadir Argan Oil Shampoo, Conditioner and most of all the Spray Treatment to add shine and hydrate. Some people recommend coconut oil, but natural coconut oil becomes a solid mass at 74 degrees Fahrenheit. If you buy coconut oil, get fractionated coconut oil, so it will pour from the bottle as a liquid. I sometimes do use that, but I prefer Argan oil from Morocco, which I purchase cheaply in bulk. The least expensive is “Dr Adorable” purchased online from Amazon. All the supplements and vitamins I buy for myself are for sale on Amazon.com because I don’t have a car, so I have it all delivered in a box, to my door, with two day shipping.
