Karl Henry The nation’s favourite doctor, Ciara Kelly, joins Karl Henry on this week’s show to talk about her own recent health scare and how that forced her to re-evaluate her health and life situation.
Similarly out of fashion are flap-type procedures, where a flap of hair from a hair-bearing area is partially removed, swung around, and attached to a frontal area. But this can lead to scarring or death or a portion of the scalp.
Avoid heat styling tools. Use blow dryers, straight irons, and curling irons sparingly. Overusing heated hair appliances causes your hair to become dry and brittle, making it fall out much more easily.

Anushka do you have to put your head back or forwards when doing the inversion method? I’m a little confused ? Like would it still work if you hang your head off the bed facing the ceiling or the floor? I’m assuming the floor cause that way you can feel the blood rushing to your head more than the other way? Thank you some great tips can’t wait to try them! ???

It’s actually a normal thing for hair to fall out. Hair starts its life with a long growing phase, and usually about 80% of our hair is in this phase at any given time. But other hairs are getting ready to leave our heads.
My hair is so thin, it’s embarrassing!! I have a bunch of split ends, it’s frizzy, and WAY TOO THIN! I condition it everytime I wash it, (which at the most is every other day, i know that’s bad), I hardly ever use heat, seriously like NEVER! I always just put it in a braid or a ponytail. But it’s just too thin. What REALLY works? And what is the routine and details that I should use?

When you are out in the sun or in the pool, you have to take measures to protect your hair. Keep in mind that keeping the hair safe can result in thicker hair in the long run. Some measures you should take to protect your hair from outside damages:
One 2012 study found that when people evaluated photos of the same men pictured with and without their hair, they saw the men as “nearly an inch taller and 13% stronger when pictured with shaved heads versus with hair.”
Hi Katelyn.Your natural rate of hair growth will determine whether or not this will be achievable. Following our tips in the article will definitely help you speed things up a bit, and give you the best chance at getting the shoulder length hair you’re after 🙂
Please help. My hair has always been my pride and joy. I figured since it is pretty damn healthy, it could deal with some bleach damage. And I figured the master stylist who did all the color-corrections would know how much would be too much. I was wrong, and now I want to burst into tears every time I look at my hair or touch it. I just don’t know what to do. my hair has also NEVER been shorter than this and it breaks and falls out. What should i do to regrow hair?
Ever since I was a teenager I’ve been some what follically changed with a very sluggish hair growth cycle. This is caused by a combination of genetics, over-styling and a low iron count, and my hair can go through phases of struggling to grow new hair so it needs a helping hand every now and then.
Hey there, dandruff and an unhealthy scalp could be contributing to your hair problems. I would start with trying to get rid of the dandruff, there are quite a few over-the-counter treatments or you could find a natural remedy (apple cider vinegar perhaps?) to help. It’s really important to maintain a healthy scalp so I would recommend doing this, cutting back on how many times you wash your hair as if you wash it more frequently it could make the problem worse. Try a little head massage every few days too, drink plenty of water and a healthy balanced diet with plenty of protein. It may take time, but hopefully, you will start to see an improvement – let me know how you get on!
Nothing but a wig would improve the condition of my thinning hair after a major illness some years ago, but the Tea Tree Shampoo is the best shampoo so far (and I’ve tried quite a few). I’ve been using this shampoo for about a month now and am really pleased with the results. Even my hairdresser commented last week that my hair was looking better than it has for a while and asked what product I was using. It’s packed full of essential oils so the smell is unbelievably good too.
I would describe this look as a cross between a lob and an updated shag. I love how flattering the bang shape is on the face and how easy it can be to style if the wearer embraces their natural texture. It’s such a fun and modern look!
Hi Anushka, Certainly I am gonna try inversion method for a week in a month. Can you please share your before and after pics for hair difference. Also want to ask 1 question that whenever I massage my hair and wash it. Hair falls out a lot (lot means lot) is that normal? And how many times in a weak should one wash her hair if getting better with dandruff and dry hair. Thank you for the response!
My hair use to be really long and pretty.. i haven’t gotten it cut or anything. It’s shorter, it breaks off and everyone thinks I got a hair cut. I did the coconut oil treatment for a month but it didn’t work for my hair.I took Biotin tablets and they didn’t really work either. I want my hair to be long again but i’m not sure what to do.
The lob is really age appropriate for all women, making it a timeless and classic style that has continued to evolve over the last few decades. Versatile, easy hair is a way for women to feel put together and sexy all the time. My ultimate goal is to have everyone leave the salon feeling sexy with hair that they can style and maintain at home!
Hi there I have purchased the Lee Stafford hair growth treatment and leave in conditioner. I am just wondering what the best way to use the treatment is? It says to use in between shampoo and conditioner? Is this best way to use it or do you advise putting the treatment in and leaving overnight before shampooing etc the next morning? Thanks
You can also make a hydrating hair mask by mixing two tablespoons of wheatgerm oil with half of a ripe mashed avocado. Apply this hair mask on freshly shampooed hair and allow it to sit for at least 20 minutes.
If the smell of Johnson’s No More Tangles triggers PTSD flashbacks to your childhood, you know what’s up. Thick hair means knots that are tied with Boy Scout–level strength. Forcing a comb or paddle brush through it is time-consuming and hair-ruining.
I’ve heard people proclaim before that they can’t believe that something like hair loss hasn’t already been solved, yet we can put a man on Mars, and we can destroy entire cities with nuclear weapons.
Ultimately, balding is a part of life, because it’s a part of death. Hair-loss treatments and replacements speak to a grim side of us that seeks immortality, of wanting to be young forever. Growing old is just as important in life as being young. In fact, it may be more important, and being comfortable with your body as it ages is a massive part of that.
I used eggs, and it really worked.first my hairs were so thin and weak so I was so sad but when I started using eggs with 2or3tablespoons of olive oil it worked,I continued the coarse for 2months and it was a miracle!!!!!
Mix one tablespoon of Indian gooseberry or amla powder in two tablespoons of coconut oil and heat until boiling. Strain the oil and massage it onto your scalp before going to bed. The next morning, shampoo your hair as usual. Do this on a weekly basis.
“I remember when I decided to go into full-time hair transplant surgery more than 15 years ago, some of my colleagues were telling me not to bother because there would be a cure found any day. But as we know, that hasn’t happened and while you can’t predict what’s going to happen in the future, I’m not convinced we are very close to finding a cure.”
“People may still think of the wigs they would have seen in the 1970s or 1980s, very heavy, unnatural looking, more like an item of clothing. The latest systems are nothing like that at all,” says Jessica.
Hey guys, thanks for the fantastic tips in this article! I didn’t know prior to the benefits of coconut oil on hair as I found it very sticky and hard to style my hair. It was my mother who would regularly apply this on weekends I guess it was an indian practice but I’m glad that she did and now I know the benefits. I can grow 1-1.5 inches per month. I’m a vegetarian and work-out regularly so this adds on top of all this. I can safely say this DOES WORK and your eating style plays a key role in this. Thanks for sharing these tips!
Hi Dr Moore. Thanks a lot for getting in touch. Your hair sounds absolutely amazing – it’s what many of us dream of having! We’d be very interested in seeing the results once you’ve finished – please do send them in! Thanks a lot 🙂
I have not tried those? Where can you get them from? No I wasn’t sponsored by Lee Stafford, it’s a genuine recommendation. It was recommended to me by a friend who swore by it for hair growth and I was pleasantly surprised to find it worked!
Studies are still new on the effects of caffeine on hair growth, but a cell study found that caffeine may have growth-promoting effects on hair. Using hair products with caffeine, like this shampoo by AB Crew, as an ingredient may help.
