But it can also be caused by environmental factors like poisoning, radiation, certain drugs, infections, hormone disorders, or nutrition deficiencies. Also, physical stressors like sudden weight loss or pregnancy, or other physical or emotional shocks, can lead to temporary hair loss.
Similarly out of fashion are flap-type procedures, where a flap of hair from a hair-bearing area is partially removed, swung around, and attached to a frontal area. But this can lead to scarring or death or a portion of the scalp.
Hi there, I use a ruler or a tape measure. I take some hairs from the front, side and back and measure them separately and note them down. Just pull your hair a little taught and then measure the entire strand – you might want some help from a friend!

This haircut is short on the sides and in the back. The back is cut in a way that emphasizes the roundness of the head, giving it a beautifully feminine profile. The top is layered long as it starts out shorter in the back and quickly gets longer towards the front.
I have a mental disorder that causes me to pull my hair when i’m stressed out or when i have really bad anxiety. I’m wondering if these methods would work. i’m deciding to shave my hair off completely so i can grow even together. but would the methods work?
– Eat a healthy diet high in protein and iron , chick peas are great for hair health because your getting enough iron & protein that you need . You can also include other healthy foods like meat , chicken , Salmon , dairy products , fruit and vegetables and supplements like biotin which is great for keeping the hair strong and healthy , if none of these options work go to the doctor and have some blood test done to see what is causing it , overall I hope these options work for you .
I also remind my guests that this type of double process service must be done slowly and that they must commit to using Aveda’s Damage Remedy line at home to ensure the hair is at its healthiest. Healthy hair enables my guests to change their hair color more often.
Female Pattern Hair Loss — Female pattern hair loss or baldness occurs when hair follicles shrink over time. Typically, each time a normal hair follicle is shed, it’s then replaced by hair that’s equal in size. For women with female pattern hair loss, the new hair is finer and thinner. The hair follicles start by shrinking in this way, and eventually they quit growing altogether. This can be caused by aging, changes in androgen (male hormone) levels, or a family history of male or female pattern baldness. (18, 19)
Biotin, also known as Vitamin H, forms a part of the B-complex group of vitamins that help turn food into fuel for energy. It also assists in the metabolism of fats, carbs and amino acids which are the building blocks of protein.
My hair is growing a bit I’ve been doing this since January and that time it’s was above my shoulder now it’s mid way length down my shoulder and it’s June. How long do you think it will take to get down to my back
Hi Ammaarah, The best thing about hair, is that it almost always grows back, so don’t fret! You have said your hair is dry, so first and foremost I would recommend a coconut oil treatment to renourish it and get it looking and feeling healthy again. Secondly, I would advise the inversion method to encourage hair growth. Do these things, and within a few months your hair should look better than ever! I hope this helps 🙂
This is for ‘Rain’ You will find fenugreek seeds at any shop that sells Indian Spices. It is an essential in making curry so they sell it by the bucket load. Alternatively, look for a spice shop online. I live in Spain, and I can find it. Good luck, and try making a curry from scratch! Jenna
well I used the egg once today and im not joking but my hair grew a little bit, I love this trick now but it stinks like hell and it kinda dries your skin too, if you ever get it on your skin at least.

Male Pattern Hair Loss — Male pattern hair loss is also known as androgenic alopecia. This is the most common type of hair loss in men, and one major cause is genetics or having a family history of baldness. Research suggests that it’s associated with androgens, which work to regulate hair growth. (17)
Medical conditions. Thyroid disease, lupus, diabetes, iron deficiency anemia, eating disorders, and anemia can cause hair loss. Most times, when the underlying condition is treated, the hair will return unless there is scarring as in some forms of lupus, lichen planus or follicular disorders.
Even though modern folklore, and even some limited scientific studies, have suggested that the mother’s side of the family is largely responsible for a genetic predisposition toward baldness, the truth is balding is not all our mothers’ fault. In fact, doctors now say baldness patterns are inherited from a combination of many genes on both sides of the family. There are some environmental factors that come into play, too.
hi:) I NEED my hair to grow before Sunday. I’ve been trying something someone told me and they said after you shower put conditioner in your hair and keep it in but I just find it greasy and not sure if it works. do you know anything about that?
Hey! So… it might be a little too early to share my thoughts, because it’s been only a few days I read this things above, but somewhere in my unconsciousness I never really wanted to believe these tips work, because for example on youtube – where I spend half my life – there are so many videos about this, and they are so clickbait, and the uploaders basically advertise a lot of products as well if you know what I mean.. But your tutorial seemed legit to me, and I’ve read it from the first word to the last. So what I did was to buy… let me get them… uhm so here we go: HARKONTROLL BOOST that says it contains keratin, zink, koppar, (copper ???), niacin, pantotensyra, vitamin B6, and BIOTIN, I also bought B Active tablettes, that mentions TONS of vitamins on the container, and I bought some walnuts, pecans, and peanuts as well. Then the inversion method… I already did 4 days, so there is 3 more left, and in the first 2 days I did not actually hang my head down, I was just lying on the bed, and I don’t use coconut oil, I just applied some Garnier hair conditioner before the 5 minute massage… but I think the change is already visible. Also my hair is very short now, and during the last week I pushed it back with a beanie, but today when I got out of the shower I pulled my “bangs” down on my forehead, and I think it wasn’t that long a week ago. Keep in mind I have 3 days left of the inversion method, but since I decided to grow my hair long again, I will repeat the process in January. If I do so, I will share if I got good results

Stacked bobs create volume and will make thick hair appear even thicker. Sometimes it can even make really thick hair look like a flying saucer! Instead of getting a stacked bob, get a layered bob. Layering your hair will remove volume while still giving you style and movement.
I just really need hope that it will eventually get it’s elasticity back and feel, look, and become thicker. Meant to add this to my main comment but accidentally deleted this tab on my browser and lost it.

The researchers found that of the nine patients with iron deficiency anemia, eight had telogen hair loss. The mean ferritin (a protein in the body that binds to iron) level was statistically significantly lower in patients with diffuse telogen hair loss than in subjects without hair loss. The study suggests that women with an iron deficiency are at a higher risk of hair loss, and serum ferritin levels below or equal to 30 milligrams/milliliter are strongly associated with telogen hair loss. Alopecia is a hair loss disease that can occur in anyone at any stage of life. Specifically Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease that causes hair to spontaneously fall out. It is mainly characterized by bald patches on the scalp or other parts of the body, and can ultimately cause baldness across the entire body. This disease interferes with the hair growth cycle by causing a follicle to prematurely leave the anagen, or active growth, phase and enter the resting, or telogen phase. The hair growth in the affected follicles is lessened or stopped completely.
I got a pixie cut about 4 days ago and I’m regretting it so much, yes my hair is healthier but I HATE IT!!! I want it to be at least at my shoulders rn. I totally agree Camilla! I’m a big advocate of nourishing your hair from the insides, too. I load up on eggs, almonds, spinach and broccoli when my hair is not feeling it’s best, and the difference is astounding! Thanks for sharing your tips, love Flaxseed.

Styling hair straight keeps thicker hair looking skinny. If you’d like to wear it curly and still look skinny, just make sure not to expand the curls. Keep them close to your head for a subtle yet gorgeous result.

Please help. My hair has always been my pride and joy. I figured since it is pretty damn healthy, it could deal with some bleach damage. And I figured the master stylist who did all the color-corrections would know how much would be too much. I was wrong, and now I want to burst into tears every time I look at my hair or touch it. I just don’t know what to do. My hair has also NEVER been shorter than this and it breaks and falls out. What should I do to regrow hair?
Oh no sorry to hear that, how frustrating for you! I definitely recommend the scalp massage using some natural oils like coconut or olive oil. Try this every day for 5 minutes once a day for a week and let me know how you get on.
