I have been trying to grow my hair longer for a year and it’s just stuck, I take Biotin 10,000 mcg and my hair is thicker for sure, I have new hair, I Added collagen and vitamin c, I have not tried the inversion method, I do have dry hair, so oil is what I need, can I add egg and flaxseed oil with coconut oil when I massage my head and can I leave these ingredients overnight? I need a quick response!!!
This is a great article, thank you for the additional tips. I already use a great sulfur oil from consciousessence.com that gives me about an inch growth a month so I’ll try the inversion to see if I can get even more growth 🙂 I am really excited and can’t wait to try.
Hair is made up of keratin and dead skin cells. While there’s no direct method to make your hair grow faster overnight, there are steps you can take to keep your hair healthy and long. Talk to your doctor before trying supplements such as biotin, keratin, or other nutritional supplements. They may interact with medications and cause unintended side effects.
Hi Kayla, thanks for your comments. It’s definitely possible to improve the quality and health of your hair on a limited budget, in my article you’ll find a few different ways to boost hair growth and make your hair stronger. Firstly it’s important to eat plenty of Biotin-rich foods such as eggs, almonds, pecans, walnuts, milk, salmon and avocado. Scalp massage will help boost the blood flow and promote hair growth, you can read more about this in the article, and finally oils definitely help. I do like argan oil, but I prefer raw coconut oil. I hope this helps!
Thick hair is simply luxurious in styling options it offers. The only problem women with thick hair may experience is an excessive bulk and a desire to make their styles more weightless. With the right layered haircuts you will easily bring your gorgeous hair to perfection. Besides, you can opt for any length that suits your face shape and life style. We have collected here the most beneficial haircuts for thick hair in short, medium and long lengths.
I’m african and I have a 4B hair type. I”ve.seen the inversion method somewhere some time ago when i had a big chop and i’ve tried it. It really worked. I did mine for.4 minutes everyday, sometimes with coconut oil and sometimes with olive oil and i use Amla hair oil sometimes also. I grew up to 1-1.5 Inches per week. I’ve left it for a while now and i.think i’ll get back to it asap. Thanks for this post Anu
Vitamin B plays a large role in the health of your hair, and getting enough of it is essential to keeping thick hair and reducing how much you shed. Good sources of vitamin B include fruits, vegetables, nuts and brown rice, among others.
Haha it’s a great volume booster! Hhm personally I like to massage dry hair with a little bit of oil and then leave the oil in overnight. I don’t like to massage my hair too much in the shower when it’s wet as I find I loose a lot of hair this way.
About the inversion method, why can you only do it for a week? I am looking to grow my hair out and am wondering if you can do it for several weeks for more length. Also, does this method generally seem to work with growing brand new hairs, or just current hairs?
Too much protein can affect your kidneys. It may also cause your hair to become brittle, although this is rare. It’s best to get protein from your diet and not supplements. You can get protein from vegetables, nuts, yogurt, and other foods.
Hi there, I know what you mean. I apply coconut oil at night and then shampoo it out in the morning which does the trick for me. How about halving the amount of oil you are applying? You don’t need as much as you think – coconut oil is extremely moisturising even in small doses.
hi I had blesched my hair twice in a week, it’s burned really crispy, I had to trim it short but my hair was long an now it’s short and very damaged, I don’t want to cut it shorter what can I do? I’m very depressed about my hair
At any one time, about 90% of the hair on a person’s scalp is growing. Each follicle has its own life cycle that can be influenced by age, disease, and a wide variety of other factors. This life cycle is divided into three phases:
To block hormonal action and help to slow the progression of hair loss in men, a doctor or dermatologist may prescribe finasteride, a prescription-only medication designed to be taken once a day. Side effects of the drug are uncommon, but include decreased sex drive and sexual dysfunction.
The color transitions from a darker root to a lighter end which allows for a long time in between coloring services, making it great for the person who can’t get into the salon very often. This look can be created with a light hold styling mousse for body and styled with a 1 1/2-inch barrel curling iron, leaving the ends out for loose lived-in curls that will last for days.
Hi Paige. Sorry to hear you’re frustrated with your hair. Coconut oil will definitely help with the nourishment, as should also help it from tangling. I would, however, recommend the inversion method to encourage hair growth and also make sure you are eating a variety of fruits and vegetables to provide your hair with all the nourishment it needs. I hope this helps. Thanks, Steph
For this client, we balayaged caramel pieces around her face then gave her lots of layers blending down from the fringe. For styling, we used a smoothing cream to help blow dry and control frizz and added Unite’s Boosta Spray for a little body while blow drying. I then went back in with Unite’s Argan Oil to smooth any flyaways and gave her a loose beachy wave. We finished with a spray wax to tousle and give that lived-in look.
Gelatin is pure protein and helps nourish your entire body, but it’s especially beneficial to your hair, skin and nails. Gelatin can help the production of collagen in the skin which is essential for strong hair and a healthy complexion. Don’t believe everything you read about skincare containing collagen – you need to boost collagen from the inside as well as the outside! It’ll also help improve joint care.
First, I’m going to trace back the current “understanding” of male pattern baldness. What do the masses believe is the cause of hair loss, and why do they believe it? Where did that information come from and who wins from this dogmatic view, while others lose?
This is a style that needs some attention every day to get the perfect finish, so having a good hairdryer and a hair straightener would be needed to perfect the look, along with using the correct hair products.
“Rough-dry your hair until it’s about 80 to 90 percent done,” says Santiago. “That’s superimportant for people with really thick hair; otherwise you’re going to be there forever. Once it’s almost dry, then attach the smoothing nozzle to your dryer, making sure it’s always facing the end of your shaft to smooth it out.” Rough-drying does work better for straight- and slightly wavy-haired gals though. “If you’re prone to a lot of frizzing or your hair is supercurly, rough-drying can open up the cuticle too much. Get the nozzle on a little faster if that’s your hair texture.
I always had a good head of hair until my doctor put me on Lipitor to lower cholestrol. My hair got very thin and I didn’t link the problem right away to Lipitor. I started to wonder what new thing was I doing? I decided to call my pharmacist to ask about some side effects. Sure enough, one of the side effects was baldness in spots (alopicia arearta). I stopped the Lipitor and my hair stopped falling out. My hair never really came back to what it was though. However, my hair absolutely stopped thinning after throwing away the Liitor. I have now since dicovered that Liitor has been taken off the market. Within 3 years after this problem, my doctor put me on Avapro for high B pressure. My hair started to thin once again. It was falling out! I don’t know if the Avapro was the culperate, but I certainly got off that perscribed drug. I’m doing natural remedies to lower my blood pressure with a healthy natural diet. I am going to try the amla powder with the coconut oil and hope for the best. I’ll let you guys know if it works.
Hi there, thank you ever so much for sharing your tips for healthy hair growth. It all sounds very, very good. I’m really interested in hair growth, especially after I too cut my hair into a short pixie cut! Food really is the key to growing healthy hair, almonds and avocados are both delicious and boost your hair growth. You should also try getting some broccoli into your diet if you haven’t already. Please do try the scalp massage, it really can work on some people! Thanks again for sharing.
– Don’t keep your hair out, ponytailed, or in a bun every day. Keep hair clean and use good oil in hair. After completing those steps, braid you hair. Many people wash their hair and braid it when it’s still wet, don’t do that because you hair will smell, you might also lose hair, and etc.

What it does: The easy-to-ingest powder supplement contains everything hair loves—keratin (the protein that makes up your strands), biotin, and vitamins and minerals—to promote shine, strength, and healthy growth and help reduce shedding.
There have been many claimed “magic bullet” breakthroughs, including the recently developed class of drugs known as JAK Inhibitors, hailed as potential “game-changers” in the fight against several of the most common types of hair-loss.
Hi Anushka I hope I spelled your name correctly. I turned 61 in July and 2017 I had 13 inches of long dark brown gray hair and I’m looking forward in starting you’re method in helping growing my hair long and strong. I’LL keep you and the lady’s posted. Sincerely Robert
“I remember when I decided to go into full-time hair transplant surgery more than 15 years ago, some of my colleagues were telling me not to bother because there would be a cure found any day. But as we know, that hasn’t happened and while you can’t predict what’s going to happen in the future, I’m not convinced we are very close to finding a cure.”
I started eating Chia seeds and I have been amazed at how thick my hair has come in at the age of 56. 2 TBLS. a day soaked in liquid first. Read on the web all the wonderful things Chia seeds can do! IT’S ALL TRUE!!
Hi Thahani. We’ve actually never heard of this method before, so can’t speak from personal experience. However it looks like fenugreek seeds would be super nourishing for your hair, so you could give it a go. It definitely won’t do your hair any harm! 🙂
My problem is actually oposite, my hair grows like a chia plant, i cut it really short and by the end of the month i have the big hair again, i cut my hair with on passed a 2 and have my hair really short so now im gona see how much it can grow in a week

“Your hairstylist has to have really good thinning shears to not cause damage,” says Santiago. Tell your stylist how your hair has reacted to thinning shears or razors in the past. Shears aren’t the devil, but if you’re prone to frizz, they’ll work best for you if used only on the ends of your hair. Your stylist can use a different method to thin out your hair that doesn’t scrape your hair shaft as much.
Hi Selena. Sorry to hear about your suffering with tonsil cancer. It’s great to hear you’re on the mend! You could also try the inversion method to stimulate hair growth. Regrowth hair product also sounds like a good idea. Do let us know how you get on! Thanks, Steph
The other currently approved drug for hair loss is Propecia (generic name, finasteride). It works only for men. Why? It keeps the male sex hormone testosterone from forming its DHT by-product. DHT signals shorten the growth phase — and lengthen the rest stage — of hormone-sensitive follicles.
This haircut is short on the sides and in the back. The back is cut in a way that emphasizes the roundness of the head, giving it a beautifully feminine profile. The top is layered long as it starts out shorter in the back and quickly gets longer towards the front.

Not necessarily. It depends how tightly you tie it. If it is a very tight bun, then it may pull on the strands of hair and cause them to fall out, but if it is loose, then it will not do that and may even protect your hair. Also, it can add slight waves to your hair, which will help make your hair look thicker.
Hi Rach really sorry to hear about your predicament! Please follow the advice outlined in the article to help boost hair growth. You should hopefully notice a different with the inversion method and a change in your diet to more Biotin-rich foods. Good luck!

Hi Nalanie. We’re happy to hear you’ll be giving the inversion mehtod a go, and thank you for your question. The inversion method should be done for 1 week, with 2 weeks break, then repeated. I hope this helps 🙂
Hi Taylor. I would say, from personal experience, the inversion method is the most effective for hair GROWTH. If you want to maintain your hair health and growth, I would advise a coconut oil treatment too as it nourishes the hair and keeps it healthy. I hope this helps 🙂
The growth of human hair occurs everywhere on the body except for the soles of the feet, the lips, palms of the hands, some external genital areas, the navel, scar tissue, and, apart from eyelashes, the eyelids.[citation needed] Like skin, hair is a stratified squamous keratinized epithelium made of multi-layered flat cells whose rope-like filaments provide structure and strength to the hair shaft.
