Hi Cindy I’m not too sure really it depends on your normal hair growth rate and whether these tips personally work for you.Why don’t you give them a go and make sure you keep a record of your length of hair every few weeks?
Honey is a great hair conditioner that makes your hair smooth and boosts the health of hair follicles which are responsible for hair growth. Honey is a natural antioxidant and will make your scalp healthy and stimulate hair growth. Also, this ingredient prevents moisture loss from the scalp because of the high sugar content. This leads to prevention of hair fall and hair follicles strength.
Thankyou for sharing these helpful tips. I agree with the biotin thing, it works wonders for my hair. I also use curry powder and curd along with the onion juice to make my hair thick, long and bouncy. 🙂 Do check out my hair story as well.
I recommend this look for anyone with naturally wavy and thick hair that needs some sort of style. It removes weight while adding movement and texture to any hairstyle. It also looks great with it pulled back, keeping a few layered pieces down and around your face. You will always have a cute style even while wearing it up!
I just got my hair cut to around mid-back but before that I had waist length hair. I really miss my long hair and want to know how well the inversion-with-coconut-oil method works. I’m hoping by the end of this month my hair will be back to it’s original length. Is it possible for it to all grow back in a month? (I just started the inversion method)
Hi Tracy, if you follow all the steps including the inversion method then you should see results after 1 week, but be sure to measure a section of your hair before and after. It doesn’t work for everyone so see how you get on.
Like the cure for cancer, those new treatments aren’t nearly ready for prime time. But they’re coming, promises George Cotsarelis, MD, director of the Hair and Scalp Clinic at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
Oh no sorry to hear that, how frustrating for you! I definitely recommend the scalp massage using some natural oils like coconut or olive oil. Try this every day for 5 minutes once a day for a week and let me know how you get on.
I used eggs, and it really worked.first my hairs were so thin and weak so I was so sad but when I started using eggs with 2or3tablespoons of olive oil it worked,I continued the coarse for 2months and it was a miracle!!!!!
Hi. Thank you so much for the advice but I was wondering. Did you only use it on the scalp at the roots or do you do all of your hair? How much oil did you use? How much almond oil do you mix with the castor oil? Sorry to bombard you with questions I hope you don’t mind.
Hi Julia, sorry to hear that. For the time being I would try not to concentrate on hair growth and more about treating your hair well and getting it back to good health. I would eat plenty of protein-rich foods, treat your hair to a weekly hair mask on the ends and gentle scalp massage. Try not to use any heated tools on your hair, and wash it using lukewarm water – avoid burning hot water – and your hair should be feeling better soon.
Too much protein can affect your kidneys. It may also cause your hair to become brittle, although this is rare. It’s best to get protein from your diet and not supplements. You can get protein from vegetables, nuts, yogurt, and other foods.

On the 20th of December 2017, I was playing with my short, dried hair (which was on average 1 inch) in the front of my head but I accidentally tangled it so bad that I had to cut it off with a pair of stationnary scissors. It is very noticeable when I have a high ponytail but you can’t see it when I have a low ponytail when it is split down the middle. Luckily it’s quite small (2.5cmx1.5cm) but I’m scared that it might not grow back. Do you think it will grow back and if so, what do you recommend for my hair?
I know this is not really part of the article, but if my hair has lots of split ends that reaches to my scalp, do I have no choice but to chop it off? My hair is at shoulder length and it has been like that for 2 years and it’s the same length. My hair is not that fried but it’s pretty damaged. I did the unthinkable and I chopped off the side hairs underneath to let them grow healthy and fresh again. It kinda looks stupid now but will this help me of getting the short hairs long again? Any tips?
Some blogs may recommend natural products and the ‘no-poo’ method, which involves cutting out all haircare and relying on baking soda to clean your hair. I am a big fan of Coconut Oil and Olive Oil as both beauty and haircare products, but I found the Lee Stafford range to really work. Coupled with the other elements, I noticed hair growth, new hair growth and also my hair was stronger and shinier than ever.
will all of these things work well enough to get may hair 10 inches longer in less then a year? My graduation is coming next year and my hair is only up to my shoulders. i would like it to be 10 inches longer so i can make my hair style look beautiful for grad. Thank you for the tips 🙂
My experience using coconut oil is really good, I just love it! It’s just soo mositurizing and conditioning I apply it twice a week and my hair is perfect and very healthy. But only applying oils wont help if we also eat healthy food that will help us alot more! Like foods rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, ex: Flaxseed. Foods also rich in Vitamin B6 and B7 are good for hair and vitamin E and C for strong hair!
i have really bad hair it breaks easy it is either to dry or to oilyand it so frizzy. i want long lush hair but it dosnt seem like its goning happen i will try these when i cananyway. have to keep hope 🙂
Hi Ruby, I’m afraid I can’t guarantee the rapid hair growth as everyone is different but from my personal experience I managed to grow my hair 1 inch in a week when I did all the above tips. Please give it a go and be sure to measure a section of your hair before and after. Good luck!
Like many of my follicly challenged brothers, I can remember the exact time I started losing my hair. You may not believe it to look at my proudly gleaming forehead now, but I used to have long hair down to my chin, which I’d often dye black or beautiful, shimmering obsidian, which was the fashion at the time (for people into Linkin Park). Yet, slowly but surely, the long black or shimmering obsidian hairs would start piling up on my pillow every morning, and in an act of defiance against what I considered my own biological inferiority, I shaved it all off, and have had a skinhead ever since.
Hi, is was wondering if you have any further recommendations that aren’t listed in the previous reading? I’m trying to get my hair to grow six inches in less then 3 months so I was hoping you might have a further explinination or list of foods that might benafit my hair? Reply soon:D
“Look, I always say, nobody has ever died from baldness. Nobody needs to treat it. But the men who come to us, they have many reasons for wanting to do so. And it’s almost never simply vanity or image. In most cases, they’ll tell us that they are doing it for the man they see in the mirror”.
well I used the egg once today and im not joking but my hair grew a little bit, I love this trick now but it stinks like hell and it kinda dries your skin too, if you ever get it on your skin at least.
Thanks for the comments! Happy to hear you like the blog post. Coconut oil is fantastic, I love it for many uses. Make sure you check out my article on the other uses – https://experthometips.com/21-clever-uses-for-coconut-oil-that-may-surprise-you
What it does: Just as an exfoliator sloughs dead skin cells from your face, this treatment removes buildup, excess oil, and dandruff flakes as it rebalances the scalp and unclogs follicles so hair can grow unimpeded.
The Holy Grail of hair-loss treatment is getting shutdown follicles to regenerate. That’s what Cotsarelis’s lab is working on. Already they’ve made a major breakthrough: They’ve learned how to manipulate these stem cells in the test tube.
Hi Johanna, thanks for your question. Do you mean your middle parting is growing slowly? Have you found the parting is getting bigger? It sounds like you may have some slow hair growth, give the tips in the article a go. I wouldn’t suggest cutting your hair again unless you prefer it to be shorter.
Hi Kayla, thanks for your comments. It’s definitely possible to improve the quality and health of your hair on a limited budget, in my article you’ll find a few different ways to boost hair growth and make your hair stronger. Firstly it’s important to eat plenty of Biotin-rich foods such as eggs, almonds, pecans, walnuts, milk, salmon and avocado. Scalp massage will help boost the blood flow and promote hair growth, you can read more about this in the article, and finally oils definitely help. I do like argan oil, but I prefer raw coconut oil. I hope this helps!
Make a mixture of one mashed avocado, one mashed banana and one tablespoon of olive oil. Massage it on your scalp and leave the mixture on your hair for about 30 minutes so that the nutrients are absorbed by the scalp. Finally, rinse it out and shampoo your hair.
Layers on a chin-length cut will give dimension to unwanted fluffiness and a silky wax or balm, like Shu Uemura Art of Hair Touch of Gloss, weighs down the hair a little bit to anchor the pouf while still letting the hair move, says Santiago.

Just enuf 4 scalp or a big handful 4 entire length of hair. Mine is past back of bra & quite thick. Also, is” XTRA VIRGIN” better than just” VIRGIN” coconut oil & if so why? ?? Thanks so much! I truly wld appreciate an immediate response as my hair sitch (as are all the others) very time sensitive!! Btw… I really enjoyed ur article. U seem very knowledgeable, passionate & dedicated 2 bring ur viewers accurate & well researched info. Trust me…I researched all ur suggestions B4 even considering 2 try! Well done my friend! Honest & quite accurate! ! I myself am a makeup artist/ high end skincare specialist. Have been peddling the “good stuff” for over 25 yrs! I’m 53 & don’t look much over 35 (people say anyway..& I’ll take it…Lol! ) But I’m now trying 2 find less expensive alternatives that work as effectively if chosen & used peoperly! Thx in advance 4 ur prompt response 2 my questions! Laurie
Hi Ammaarah, The best thing about hair, is that it almost always grows back, so don’t fret! You have said your hair is dry, so first and foremost I would recommend a coconut oil treatment to renourish it and get it looking and feeling healthy again. Secondly, I would advise the inversion method to encourage hair growth. Do these things, and within a few months your hair should look better than ever! I hope this helps 🙂
Hi Neha, I’m really sorry to hear that. It can be hugely upsetting, have your sought professional advice? It might be due to an underlying health issue which is best to be checked out. I can recommend any of the tips in the above article, especially scalp massage with oil. Don’t rub too vigorously though as you don’t want to pull too many hairs out.
Hi Caroline, really sorry to hear what happened with your hair – I bet it was painful! Have you tried a clip-in fringe for the time being? They look realistic and will help hide the spot. You could try some scalp massage when the skin has healed too.
Hi I am samjhana. I hav a big problem with my hair. My hair is so curly like I hav made it in the parlour but its real. My hair is so fizzy. There is too much hairfall and it doesn’t grow. 2 yrs ago I hav shoulder length hair then I cut it to thaicut hair. At the year end it became shoulder length but from then, I hav been waiting for 2 yrs but it doesn’t grow even 1cm.I hav tried many hair products suggested by many parlourists but nothing happened can u suggest me anything that works?
Hi Heidi, that’s exactly it. The massage provides increased blood flow to the hair follicle which boosts growth, if you did it constantly then it wouldn’t be as effective. Massage is brilliant for hair health anyway so it won’t hurt to massage your hair daily but if you’re after rapid growth then you need a break in between.
Bad hair days, we all have them and some experts say we experience them up to 3 times a week. If you have less, then you are lucky. But why do we experience then only a couple times a week, not every day? Let’s see what causes bad hair days and how to overcome them. In the meantime, there is a way to get a handle on those days until your tresses are back to their lustrous, shiny beauty. New Look Institute has a number of ways to help and support you with everything from hair restoration systems, to wigs, extensions and toppers.
Hi Anushka…. Firstly, I’d say a big thanks to you, for stating it all out as detailed and simplified as possible. More so, I’ll just add that from the hundreds of comments here, I’ve deduced that you seem to really be so positive about the efficacy of THE INVERSION METHOD, and for something which you’ve clearly stated that you’re overly uncertain of it’s outcome for each individual, I’d say, making it your number one go-to recommendation in all your replies seems rather Not-So-Encouraging and less than ideal. Nevertheles,I’m a man, though born in Atlanta,GA, I do have a deep Nigerian heritage,I’m talking both parents deep… So yeah, git the short, black curly hair and all that sstuff… After 4months,t’s currently in a semi-afro state, but I wish to make it grow longer, like so much…. So, fingers crossed, I’m really routing on these solutions working for me as wella…. Giving it a shot….taking a full go at it.
I would describe this look as a subtle, balayage highlighted bob. This guest had a very dark natural base, so my favorite part is that I was able to give her some dimension and lightness without taking away from her beautiful dark hair.
