Hi Maddie, sorry to hear about your split end woes. I can sympathise because my hair can be very weak and often starts splitting after just one use of the hair straighteners! I would suggest getting a proper trim at your hairdressers to get rid of as many dead ends as possible. Then you can start afresh with your new haircare routine. Follow the tips in the article – eat plenty of protein rich foods, use luke warm water, try the inversion method, use a good oil maybe once a week. This should all help improve the condition of your hair if nothing else.

My hair actually changes color. It is sometimes red, sometimes brown, and sometimes blond. I don’t know what color it is. It’s naturally very curly, but not ringlets, spirals. It is very, very, soft. Try olaplex treatments. Stop heat styling for a while, rinse in the shower with cold water. Use cold air with the blow dryer. Use quality salon shampoo and conditioner AND leave in conditioner. Eat fruits and vegetables daily, protein at every meal. Take a daily multivitamin and omega 3 fish or krill oil. (Do not take omega 6 or 9 is it unnecessary.) And most of all patience – it will grow back!

I’ve been trying to get my hair to lengthen and thicken, I’ve not heard of the gelatin so I’ll be trying that, my hairdresser suggested taking silica tablets, I got mine from Holland &Barratt they were half price, when I ordered which was a bonus. If you want to grow strong hair, focus specifically on eating sufficient amounts of clean proteins. It can be quite hard to do this without eating animal proteins, but if you are opting for a vegetarian diet, include plenty of eggs and spirulina. Secondly, eat adequate amounts of vegetables and fermented foods to keep inflammation at bay. Feeding the microbiome with raw and cooked vegetables (especially celery and asparagus) is a plus.
I have a pixie cut and I’m getting tired of it, I just want my hair back ( at least to shoulder length ) before Christmas ( thanksgiving even! ) is there any ( cheap) way I could grow it out FAST? Alopecia is a hair loss disease that can occur in anyone at any stage of life. Specifically Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease that causes hair to spontaneously fall out. It is mainly characterized by bald patches on the scalp or other parts of the body, and can ultimately cause baldness across the entire body. This disease interferes with the hair growth cycle by causing a follicle to prematurely leave the anagen, or active growth, phase and enter the resting, or telogen phase. The hair growth in the affected follicles is lessened or stopped completely.
Hi Laurie, thanks for your questions! Really happy to hear you are going to try the method. There are different ways you can do the inversion method. You can apply the coconut oil to dry, unwashed hair in the evening, leave it on overnight with a cap then wash it out in the morning. If you don’t want to wash your hair every day then you can alternate with the inversion method – one day with oil, one day without and so on. You can even do the inversion method without the oil – or just use the oil once a week. It’s completely up to you. There is no real difference between extra virgin and virgin coconut oil, as far as I am aware – this seems to be just a marketing ploy by companies, but I could be wrong. There are limits to how thick any given person’s hair can get, but you can certainly increase the thickness of your hair. Using high-quality shampoo and conditioner, using coconut and/or castor oil (ideally left in overnight and then washed out – it could make your hair look greasy, so you might not want to have it in during the day), and getting good nutrition can all help. First of all don’t wash your more than once a week. take a mixture of egg, olive oil, n milk..apply twice a week n wash vd very mild shampoo n lukewarm water. Hey, I’m not very old but my hair has really been suffering….I had been skipping conditioner,using a lot of shampoo, showering in steaming hot water, and not getting my hair cut for maybe even over a year! Hair grows at 0.50 inches on average per month which to me sounds like a lot but in reality why doesn’t it feel it? Well, things like over-styling, bad diet and not taking good care of your hair can result in split ends and breakages which shorten the length of your hair.
My hair just never gets clean no matter how i wash it. I have tried parting it and stuff but no difference. I am African and my hair is a very thick Afro which does not help matters. My real greatest problem is that i can’t wash my hair everyday for 7 days. It would shrink beyond imagination. For this client, we balayaged caramel pieces around her face then gave her lots of layers blending down from the fringe. For styling, we used a smoothing cream to help blow dry and control frizz and added Unite’s Boosta Spray for a little body while blow drying.
