Catagen – This is a transitional phase that hair goes into once Anagen has ended. The hair follicle will shrink, the papilla detaches and the hair is no longer attached to it’s ‘life supply’ of nutrients. Hair is no longer growing.

As mentioned, i’ve tried all kinds of natural and prescription solutions with minimal results. In addition I suffer from Hashimotos disease which may or may not be playing a part in my hair loss. What would be your suggestion for the amount of zinc we should be taking…not for a therapy, but normally? I take extra C, D, B5, and Fish oil. My hair is thinner than it used to be, but some of that may be hereditary. I definitely want to improve it and not let it get thinner!

Chemo /radiation has destroyed growth and any new hair growth.mostly bald for years now. How would you offer the above in child dosing? I desperately need help. I need to grow out my hair in three weeks for an event and I have tried these methods but they do not seem to be working for my hair (my hair hair is African, soft and natural). The coconut oil is working but it works so slowly on my hair, and it will take about two months to grow it out how I want at the rate it is growing. Please me with tips, hacks, tricks. Anything. And I cut my hair for another event one time so that also contributes to the slow hair growth. Please help, I really need to be there for the event!!!
Hi Saanvi, you don’t need to apply coconut oil every time you do the inversion method. You can massage your scalp without it too. How about only using coconut oil when you are going to wash your hair?

I can’t think of anything more to add to the list, but I like to take in Biotin rich foods through a smoothie in the morning as it’s absorbed by your body at a faster rate. I mix a handful of spinach and kale with half a banana, 1/4 avocado, almonds and brazil nuts. I always make sure I eat a protion of brocolli every other day. Some people recommend pumpkin seed oil for hair growth – I have not tried it myself but many blogger swear by it.
Hi Suzanne! Thanks for your comments, I’ve had a short hair cut and while it was a nice change I did find it incredibly hard to manage! I am a big fan of oils, in general, to be honest, I agree cold pressed castor oil is fantastic for eyelashes and hair but in my personal experience I didn’t find that it worked better or less than coconut or olive oil. But, having said that I do know people who swear by it. I would say it’s not an exact science so whichever you prefer and works for you. I like to get mini bottles wherever possible and figure out what works for me.
Thick hair is something more people would like to have. Whether your hair is long or short, having thick hair just seems to look better. Hi there, I know what you mean. I apply coconut oil at night and then shampoo it out in the morning which does the trick for me. How about halving the amount of oil you are applying? You don’t need as much as you think – coconut oil is extremely moisturising even in small doses.
Haha it’s a great volume booster! Hhm personally I like to massage dry hair with a little bit of oil and then leave the oil in overnight. I don’t like to massage my hair too much in the shower when it’s wet as I find I loose a lot of hair this way.
