I used eggs, and it really worked.first my hairs were so thin and weak so I was so sad but when I started using eggs with 2or3tablespoons of olive oil it worked,I continued the coarse for 2months and it was a miracle!!!!!
If this all sounds futuristic, it is. But there are good reasons this kind of technology will move forward. Today, Americans spend $800 million on hair restoration surgery. And they’d spend a lot more if the surgery got faster and better.
I just really need hope that it will eventually get it’s elasticity back and feel, look, and become thicker. Meant to add this to my main comment but accidentally deleted this tab on my browser and lost it.
I hello, I am new to theses natural remedies to help with hair growth. I did try thr egg beaten and then used the big tub of cocnt oil but how do I get it to spread easier it just wants to stay in chunks and hard to spread.?
I’m a hairdresser for 35 years your wrong on. Mioxidill…. Use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner, and there treatments along with supplements or eating write… Nioxin is all natural, itwill last longer if not for ever folicales… Minoxidel, hair falls out after 60 days Nioxin 180 days and only half falls out rest will stay forever Hair lose is caused by testosterone, which is only on the top of your head and not the back has none..that’s why hair graphs are working so well!!! It $$$$ but does work… When the folicales are cloged with testosterone the hair is still under the skin? It can’t grow because its clogged with testosterone? Nioxion unclog the fopical and allows the hair to break threw to grow. Then we have Sun damage which is shinny skin, there’s no help but skin graft for that.. So make sure you wear a hat in the sun and most important…. Wash your hats often in the dish washer… Testosterone when it dries TRIPLES IN STRENGHTH AND CAUSES MORE HAIR LOSS!!!!!!!!!! I’ve worked with Nioxion for years and have hair lose myself…
Hi so I just recently donated 10 inches off of my hair to an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients, and my hair is now not even touching my shoulders:( I am also in a wedding the first week of February, and i need my hair to grow FAST for the wedding. But I am afraid these tips are not going to work, or be a waste of time(of which i don’t have a lot of). My hair also sucks to get oil out of so what treatment do you recommend?
hi Jenna, where did you buy fenugreek seeds in Spain? I’m living in Valencia Spain, I’m looking for this for a long time and I can’t find, I don’t know where to buy, could you please tell me where to buy…thanks
To use coconut oil for getting thicker hair naturally, massage a bit of warmed coconut oil into the scalp and hair and cover with a hot towel. Get the towel hot by running it under hot water and ringing out all excess water. This will ensure that the oil stays heated while penetrating the hair shaft. Leave this on for thirty minutes and then rinse and wash with a mild shampoo. This can be repeated every few days to get hair that is both thicker and healthier.
I am a survivor all of my hair was gone and it is coming back ,but very slow.I have some organic flax oil with lignans can I use that? I really want my hair back, because I do not like the mascular look. Thank God for you
i had a big chop (cut off my hair) in august 2015, my hair is growing really long but the middle part is veeery slow at growing and it is shorter than the rest of my hair… should i cut my hair again or is there something i can use for my hair to be the same length?
Hi Meredith. It sounds to me like the chlorine is definitely damaging your hair. Are you using a water-tight cap when swimming? Additionally, are you having it cut regularly? Chlorine will damage your hair, making it more prone to splitting. Regular haircuts will prevent this. I would recommend using a weekly hair treatment, such as coconut oil or a specific hair mask from LUSH to reinject nutrients back into your hair. I hope this helps. Thanks, Steph
hey L I am a vegeterian and am low in Iron, does that affect the thickness of the hair? I am trying NOT to take supplements however I will do anything to get thick hair ( I will do anything for thick hair)

I have a pixie cut and I’m getting tired of it, I just want my hair back ( at least to shoulder length ) before Christmas ( thanksgiving even! ) is there any ( cheap) way I could grow it out FAST? I’m in 7th grade and really don’t want a LONG awkward stage of growing out my hair. I know it will look akward at some points but if you could help me shorten that time that would be GREAT!!!
Use a “dry shampoo” to treat your hair in between washes. It keeps it looking fresh and has the added benefit of making hair look thicker. Dry shampoo is a powder you can comb through your hair, especially around the roots, between washings.
mix 2 egg yolk with 1tsp honey and amla oil or Castor oil, or live oil, apply to your hair and scalp and massage it everywhere put a plastic cap and sit under a hair steamer, and leave the mixture on your head as long as you can, then Shampoo.
I am on a tight budget, so I use regular veg oil, and beeten eggs for protein. When I get back on my feet again, I’ll use the coconut oil, I know it works. Until then what I am using is working, my hair is thicker, shinny, and longer, I have gotten comments on my hair, I’m 50 years old, my hair was thinning and brittle. It takes a while longer, but I’m happy. Now my ex-husband can eat his heart out at my daughter’s wedding in June, cause he loves long hair and mine is growing below my boobs. Lol
Pls I am nigerian girl my hair is not even 10cm long and I hAve started for the past five years pls I have never even see all what u mentioned in Acticle talkless of using it pls help me Aunty Anu plssssssssssssssssssss what can I do
Hi maria..I just read your question about where to find amla in US. I too am in US and I buy it from any local Indian/Pakistani (ethnic) grocer/store. You can easily find different brands of amla oil, also whole dried amla and amla powder as well. You can include all of this in your hair care regimen. Hope this helps.
Hi Heidi, that’s exactly it. The massage provides increased blood flow to the hair follicle which boosts growth, if you did it constantly then it wouldn’t be as effective. Massage is brilliant for hair health anyway so it won’t hurt to massage your hair daily but if you’re after rapid growth then you need a break in between.
This is the single most informative piece on hair loss I’ve ever found, and I’ve searched for lots! Dr. Axe, you give me hope. I had luxurious hair as a child, but, that all ended at puberty. Still, I didn’t have extremely thin hair, just thinner. The thinning progressed steadily, though, until I became pregnant. Then, suddenly, I had my childhood hair back! Until, that is, I gave birth, when all the new growth disappeared with a vengeance. I’m 67 now, and have a great deal of difficulty covering the thin entire crown of my head. This, in spite of my holistic doctor’s efforts with bio identical hormones, over the last three years! I also take supplements, but, too sporadically. That will change! To add insult to injury, my husband also started the bio identical hormones, just two months ago, and although he was never bothered by his baldness, has much new growth! Thank you for this enlightening information, it is my best hope.
Hi there, sorry to hear that. I’m afraid I don’t know too much about this condition, but scalp massage will certainly helps stimulate the follicles. Please give it a go and see how you get on, if in any doubt though please see a doctor for professional help.

Exercise is good for your hair health in many ways, including thickening the hair and encouraging the hair growth. It works to increase circulation to the hair scalp, which mainly takes responsibility for hair growth. So, aim at exercising a couple of times a week to get the best results.
These are just some of the many hairstyles you can try you on your thick hair. I hope they’ve inspired you to mix and match them or even create other styles! You have awesome hair. It’s your asset. Flaunt it!
According to the study, released in the Biomaterials journal last Thursday, the breakthrough came after the scientists successfully mass-produced “hair follicle germs” (HFG) which were created for the first time ever in this way.
This asymmetric bob starts out even one side and continues to be even as it reaches the back, but gradually gets longer as it reaches the other side. It is parted to the side and has a sassy side-swept fringe.
Hi Anushka, I am going to try the inversion method. Thanks for the tip! I already take biotin every day and it sure does help make my hair thicker and healthier – I will double up for the next week to see if that helps with hair growth. I’ve been taking it for a year and a half when I started growing my hair out from a pixie cut – it’s also great for growing and strengthening your fingernails. I started growing out my hair 18 months ago and now it is to my shoulders which is roughly .75 of an inch per month. I’ve had a few trims to shape it up – my hair was almost shaved above my ears so it was like starting my hair growth from scratch. I also drink a lot of water and eat plenty of almonds & avocados because I like their health benefits and I eat plenty of other fruits and veggies. A good diet is key to hair growth. I changed my diet from lots of pasta, rice and sugar and the difference in how I feel is amazing. So is my hair since I changed my diet. It was very difficult to break old habits and to stay away from most sugars and sweets, but it was well worth it for my hair growth and for how good I feel. For my main meal each day, I eat a huge bowl of raw veggie salad like cucumbers (my fave), carrots, celery, peppers, lettuce (optional), olives, sunflower seeds, nuts or anything else that suits my fancy at the time, covered in a salad dressing that I make from vinegar and olive oil with spices or sometimes I eat them naked sans dressing. 🙂 I also eat a small portion of meat, beans or eggs for protein and usually a slice of good bread, but the veggie salad is the biggest part of my meal. Delish! Not only has this been very beneficial for my hair, I’ve trimmed my down waistline without really trying. I have seen a big difference in my hair since changing my diet. It’s thicker, shinier and healthier than ever! I also use coconut, olive oil or argan oil in my hair from time to time and I will add the scalp massage with oil to see if this will also work – I’m excited to see if I can grow my hair an inch or more in a week!
On the 20th of December 2017, I was playing with my short, dried hair (which was on average 1 inch) in the front of my head but I accidentally tangled it so bad that I had to cut it off with a pair of stationnary scissors. It is very noticeable when I have a high ponytail but you can’t see it when I have a low ponytail when it is split down the middle. Luckily it’s quite small (2.5cmx1.5cm) but I’m scared that it might not grow back. Do you think it will grow back and if so, what do you recommend for my hair?
Hi there, Really keen to try your recipe for longer hair! Just wanted to ask with regards to the massage for 5min for 7 days (no longer no less) …. is this on a fortnightly basis, monthly? Look for to your response.
Hi I am samjhana. I hav a big problem with my hair. My hair is so curly like I hav made it in the parlour but its real. My hair is so fizzy. There is too much hairfall and it doesn’t grow. 2 yrs ago I hav shoulder length hair then I cut it to thaicut hair. At the year end it became shoulder length but from then, I hav been waiting for 2 yrs but it doesn’t grow even 1cm.I hav tried many hair products suggested by many parlourists but nothing happened can u suggest me anything that works?
While you’re doing it make sure you are tipping your head over slightly so it’s hanging over. Sitting on a chair and bending your head over works very well. By doing this, you’re encouraging the blood to flow to your head and are stimulating your hair follicles to encourage the Anagen stage.
Hello, I just found your blog and was interested in your thoughts. My hair seems grows pretty fast, I’ve had it short for the past 4 years and the cut usually gets messy after about 8 weeks. This drives me nuts, previously I always had long hair and found it easier to manage. Now I want to grow it out quickly and I’ve noted your comments on coconut, argon and olive oils but was curious as I’ve seen no one mention cold pressed castor oil. I’ve found this fantastic for my eyelashes and started using it for its rejuvenating and growing properties. I would have thought the properties in it that are useful for lashes ie the nutrients and folicle stimulation would work the same with hair. The cold pressed castor oil seems to be valued higher for eyelash growth than the other three oils that are mentioned here for hair. Just wondering, lol, discuss.
This is a great article, thank you for the additional tips. I already use a great sulfur oil from consciousessence.com that gives me about an inch growth a month so I’ll try the inversion to see if I can get even more growth 🙂 I am really excited and can’t wait to try.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for your comment. I know how you feel, your confidence does take such a beating when your hair is not how you would like it to be and it can be very frustrating. It sounds like you’re taking all the right steps to getting your hair back to good health. Eating a protein rich diet with plenty of vegetables and doing a moisturising treatment every week will certainly help, but it might be best to stay away from heat tools at the moment – perhaps you could clip your hair back or use a head tie or hairband to keep those rogue hairs in place for the time being. Perhaps you could see a hair stylist and get some advice on how to naturally style your hair at the moment, without the need for hot tools, while you grow it out? I have found this incredibly useful in the past – they will go through a few different hairstyles with you that will be easy to achieve at home. Have you tried the inversion method or at least gently massaging your scalp? I’m a big fan of this, as I find it increases hair growth but is also really good for your scalp. How often are you washing your hair? It will take time to bring your hair back to good health so continue what you are doing, and I hope you will see some improvement in the next few months. Anushka

I just got my hair cut to around mid-back but before that I had waist length hair. I really miss my long hair and want to know how well the inversion-with-coconut-oil method works. I’m hoping by the end of this month my hair will be back to it’s original length. Is it possible for it to all grow back in a month? (I just started the inversion method)
Hi there, thank you for your comment. I would suggest you miss out the biotin and coconut oil if you are worried about either of those. If you do the inversion method with no oil! Good luck, I hope it works for you.
