Hi Paige. Sorry to hear you’re frustrated with your hair. Coconut oil will definitely help with the nourishment, as should also help it from tangling. I would, however, recommend the inversion method to encourage hair growth and also make sure you are eating a variety of fruits and vegetables to provide your hair with all the nourishment it needs. Hair follows a specific growth cycle with three distinct and concurrent phases: anagen, catagen, and telogen phases. Each phase has specific characteristics that determine the length of the hair. All three phases occur simultaneously; one strand of hair may be in the anagen phase, while another is in the telogen phase.

Loved your article on hair loss. Have ten year old daughter-cancer pt who has been cancer free/off treatment for 3 years. Chemo /radiation has destroyed growth and any new hair growth.mostly bald for years now. How would you offer the above in child dosing? I was suffering of hair loss for almost 15 years and now after taking Fish Oil Omega-3 tablet I have seen regrowth of hair. If you’re using heat tools every day whether that be hot irons or the hair-dryer, try to cut down on using them while you are doing the Inversion Method. Heat can weaken your hair so even just alternating or going an extra day without heat can dramatically improve the condition of your hair.

While you’re doing it make sure you are tipping your head over slightly so it’s hanging over. Sitting on a chair and bending your head over works very well. By doing this, you’re encouraging the blood to flow to your head and are stimulating your hair follicles to encourage the Anagen stage.

Coconut oil saved my scalp AND my hair! Everybody should try the ingredients and methods this article mentions! I used to have a very itchy scalp and my hair was very dry and brittle, due to the fact that I was on and off the swim team for a good decade, so spending one – two hours in chlorine really showed on my hair, and then of course the Saturday swim meets we had every week, doesn’t really help! I went for a good year (at the end of 2015, up to September 2016) dying my hair all kinds of colors every two months, and this did show as well. My hair also grew very slow due to how unhealthy it was. I started doing coconut oil masks (with yoghurt and honey) once a week (on and off for three months) and my hair has grown close to two inches, in three months! My hair feels sososososo much better ever since I started taking care of it and it has shown! My boyfriend’s mother used to be a hair stylist and she said a couple weeks ago that my hair looks better than ever, and this is only month three of my hair care journey! I plan on getting a perm done hopefully by September of next year, hoping that these treatments can get my hair is top shape before I kill it off again. But yeah, coconut oil is pretty much my safe haven to all my hair problems! Especially the itchy scalp problem. I was AMAZED that my scalp didn’t itch 30 minutes later, the night I put the coconut oil mask in my hair… it hasn’t itched since! The hair grows an average of 1/2 inch per month, so if you measure from your shoulders to your waist, you should get a rough idea of how long this will take. Hair grows at 0.50 inches on average per month which to me sounds like a lot but in reality why doesn’t it feel it? Well, things like over-styling, bad diet and not taking good care of your hair can result in split ends and breakages which shorten the length of your hair.
