Hi Emily, thanks for getting in touch. I would definitely do the inversion method using a scalp massager every 4 weeks. I can’t think of anything more to add to the list, but I like to take in Biotin rich foods through a smoothie in the morning as it’s absorbed by your body at a faster rate. I mix a handful of spinach and kale with half a banana, 1/4 avocado, almonds and brazil nuts. I always make sure I eat a protion of brocolli every other day. Some people recommend pumpkin seed oil for hair growth – I have not tried it myself but many blogger swear by it.
Hi Erin, so to hear you’ve had a bit of a hair nightmare. I once cut my hair into a pixie cute and it took a long time to grow it back to the style I originally had. I suggest you follow the advice in this article to help grow your hair quicker. The inversion method worked for me so let me know how you get on with that. You just need to massage your hair daily for 7 days alternating with coconut oil. Good luck!
I’ve been searching for a hair grow vitamin from France, made with fish oils. I read that Demi Moore used it after she shaved her head for the movie G.I. Jane, and have been searching for it ever since! Can you help me find it?
Haha it’s a great volume booster! Hhm personally I like to massage dry hair with a little bit of oil and then leave the oil in overnight. I don’t like to massage my hair too much in the shower when it’s wet as I find I loose a lot of hair this way.
“Others are taking hair follicles out of human scalp and growing them with dermal papilla cells,” Cotsarelis says. “If they grow in culture, you might be able to recombine them with skin cells and form new follicles. This would let you expand the number of follicles you get for a hair transplant. This may not be that far off — five to 10 years, maybe. There’s very good evidence you will be able to do that.”
Hi Taylor. I would say, from personal experience, the inversion method is the most effective for hair GROWTH. If you want to maintain your hair health and growth, I would advise a coconut oil treatment too as it nourishes the hair and keeps it healthy. I hope this helps 🙂
Hello, I just found your blog and was interested in your thoughts. My hair seems grows pretty fast, I’ve had it short for the past 4 years and the cut usually gets messy after about 8 weeks. This drives me nuts, previously I always had long hair and found it easier to manage. Now I want to grow it out quickly and I’ve noted your comments on coconut, argon and olive oils but was curious as I’ve seen no one mention cold pressed castor oil. I’ve found this fantastic for my eyelashes and started using it for its rejuvenating and growing properties. I would have thought the properties in it that are useful for lashes ie the nutrients and folicle stimulation would work the same with hair. The cold pressed castor oil seems to be valued higher for eyelash growth than the other three oils that are mentioned here for hair. Just wondering, lol, discuss.
Everyone’s body is different, but most people should be able to comfortably wash their hair two to three times a week without it getting too oily. If your hair is naturally quite oily, you might want to wash it three to four times a week instead.
Hello there. I used to have shoulder length hair but recently, after seeing my friend having a bob cut , i accompanied her to have my hair , cut like that too. But now I miss my long locks. I hope this helps 🙁
Hi there, I use a ruler or a tape measure. I take some hairs from the front, side and back and measure them separately and note them down. Just pull your hair a little taught and then measure the entire strand – you might want some help from a friend!
i also have done hair smoothing because my hair was very curly and very short (about 9inch only ) but doing a proper haircare and these remedies help me to grow my hair faster(now my hair is35inch long)

Hi Johanna, thanks for your question. Do you mean your middle parting is growing slowly? Have you found the parting is getting bigger? It sounds like you may have some slow hair growth, give the tips in the article a go. I wouldn’t suggest cutting your hair again unless you prefer it to be shorter.
Hey, I would try out the henna method. Question is how often I am suppose to do this treatment? I have tried so many methods and nothing worked out. I would appreciate if my doubts are cleared. Thanks a million!

My hair just never gets clean no matter how i wash it. I have tried parting it and stuff but no difference. I am African and my hair is a very thick Afro which does not help matters. My real greatest problem is that i can’t wash my hair everyday for 7 days. It would shrink beyond imagination. Is it necessary you wash out the coconut oil and also, do you have any advice on how to wash my hair?
The phases run simultaneously so some hairs on your head will be in the Anagen phase and others in Telogen. For each hair strand, the Anagen phase should start again once the Telogen phase is complete, but some people may experience longer Telogen phases meaning hair is shedding but no new hair is growing.
What it does: Applied to the scalp, this liquid formula aims to improve circulation, ward off free-radical damage, and counteract hormonal activity that can have a slowing effect on your hair-growth cycle.
Often the most neglected yet important aspect of growing healthy hair is the vitality of the scalp. I found that maintaining the scalp and keeping it conditioned, invigorated, and inflammation-free is key. It’s easy to overlook the scalp; after all, it is hidden beneath a mane of hair, so dryness or irritation can be quite literally veiled. But the scalp is also prone to the elements you place on it, so principal consideration is generally to avoid overwashing. Washing two to three times per week was sufficient for me, which also helps maintain the scalp’s microbiome and leaves its natural sebum production intact.
Hi Ife. Unfortunately, we’ve never tried Indian Hemp, so we can’t advise on this. Let us know how you get on! Hep oil is notoriously rich in nutrients, so I’m confident it will nourish your hair 🙂 Thanks Steph
Fewer than 45 percent of women go through life with a full head of hair while a majority of men go through some type of hair loss in their lifetimes. The hair care industry knows that consumers have a great desire to look youthful now more than ever so it constantly delivers new products that promise to promote hair growth. Before you spend your money on yet another product that may leave you disappointed, try using these vitamins for hair growth (or hair vitamins as I sometimes call them) first.
I also believe protecting the head from sun exposure (UV) is important, as presented by Conklin. (Despite her spelling issues, I don’t think this issue should be discounted – and in her defense, I think her grammar issues are due to being a non-native English speaker. There might be some helpful knowledge in her post).
Thick hair looks luxe long and is great for a pixie, where a stylist has a lot to work with. But that of-the-moment choppy bob? Not so much. “Thick hair that’s shoulder-length can very easily get big,” says Santiago.
Hi Riru, sorry to hear this. I’m afraid I don’t know too many professionals that could help you apart from Belgravia in the UK – http://www.belgraviacentre.com/ – give it a look, they have some interesting information on hair loss that could be of help to you. Best of luck.
Hi Anushka I hope I spelled your name correctly. I turned 61 in July and 2017 I had 13 inches of long dark brown gray hair and I’m looking forward in starting you’re method in helping growing my hair long and strong. I’LL keep you and the lady’s posted. Sincerely Robert
