Hi Mastuh. We don’t have any experience with Sulfur 8, so can’t advise on this. We prefer other natural methods, such as the inversion method and using coconut oil. Please follow the instructions in the blog post for guidance using the inversion method. I hope this helps 🙂
Egg is great for hair and skin and it’s got everything you need to build up the proteins in your hair to keep it thicker and promote new hair growth. Protein is one of the best things you can give your hair to make it stronger, thicker, and looking its best. If there is only one remedy you use to promote thicker hair, let this be it.

Coconut oil is great for your hair and it’s easy to get thicker hair when you use this tropical oil as a treatment. Having a bottle of coconut oil is highly recommended if you wish to take care of your hair naturally and have it looking its best. There are proteins present in coconut oil that are responsible for adding strength to the hair, much like how the proteins in eggs work for treating thin hair.

Biotin, also known as Vitamin H, forms a part of the B-complex group of vitamins that help turn food into fuel for energy. It also assists in the metabolism of fats, carbs and amino acids which are the building blocks of protein.
You can buy grass-fed gelatin as a supplement that can be added to hot and room temperature drinks. Great Lakes have an affordable range and can be bought from Amazon. Simply add a teaspoon to your morning tea or coffee.

Too much protein can affect your kidneys. It may also cause your hair to become brittle, although this is rare. It’s best to get protein from your diet and not supplements. You can get protein from vegetables, nuts, yogurt, and other foods.
One of the best things you can take is aloe vera juice. The benefits of aloe vera include its healing effects on skin and wounds. Within the aloe vera juice are polysaccharides that aid your body in healing cuts fast, including both internally or externally. In fact, in 2009, a systematic review summarized 40 studies involved using aloe vera for dermatological purposes.
This article was really helpful for my hair growth. Thanks a lot anushka. Your article was so interesting and I hope you would make more articles like this. This article was very meaningful and I love it! Thanks a lot!
Hi I’m jamaican..will the method work with my hair . I had beautiful hair once but I cought Dandruff’s and it droped off and after years of doctors treatment and everything it won’t grow so what will I suggest. Its been like this for 7 years now
Not quite! Keratin fibers are a great, temporary option to make your hair look thicker. The keratin fibers bind to your hair — in particular the tiny, colorless hairs you can’t see, to make your hair look fuller and thicker. There’s a better option out there!
Hi Dr Moore. Thanks a lot for getting in touch. Your hair sounds absolutely amazing – it’s what many of us dream of having! We’d be very interested in seeing the results once you’ve finished – please do send them in! Thanks a lot 🙂
On the 20th of December 2017, I was playing with my short, dried hair (which was on average 1 inch) in the front of my head but I accidentally tangled it so bad that I had to cut it off with a pair of stationnary scissors. It is very noticeable when I have a high ponytail but you can’t see it when I have a low ponytail when it is split down the middle. Luckily it’s quite small (2.5cmx1.5cm) but I’m scared that it might not grow back. Do you think it will grow back and if so, what do you recommend for my hair?
If the client is wanting a more wavy or curly look, I recommend using a 1 to 1 1/2-inch barrel curling iron. Starting in the front, take vertical sections and curl the hair back and away from the face. Once you reach the back of the head, start on the other side of the head and continue to curl the hair away from the face. Allow the curls to set for a minute, then run your fingers through or brush the curls for a softer, more lived-in look.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for your comment. I know how you feel, your confidence does take such a beating when your hair is not how you would like it to be and it can be very frustrating. It sounds like you’re taking all the right steps to getting your hair back to good health. Eating a protein rich diet with plenty of vegetables and doing a moisturising treatment every week will certainly help, but it might be best to stay away from heat tools at the moment – perhaps you could clip your hair back or use a head tie or hairband to keep those rogue hairs in place for the time being. Perhaps you could see a hair stylist and get some advice on how to naturally style your hair at the moment, without the need for hot tools, while you grow it out? I have found this incredibly useful in the past – they will go through a few different hairstyles with you that will be easy to achieve at home. Have you tried the inversion method or at least gently massaging your scalp? I’m a big fan of this, as I find it increases hair growth but is also really good for your scalp. How often are you washing your hair? It will take time to bring your hair back to good health so continue what you are doing, and I hope you will see some improvement in the next few months. Anushka
Stacked bobs create volume and will make thick hair appear even thicker. Sometimes it can even make really thick hair look like a flying saucer! Instead of getting a stacked bob, get a layered bob. Layering your hair will remove volume while still giving you style and movement.
Hi Rebecca SO pleased that you’ve benefitted from the tips in the article! I can’t recommend both coconut oil and scalp massage enough – they work absolute wonders for your hair health. So happy for you, just a bit of commitment and you really can see an improvement. Thanks for leaving such a lengthy comment, really made my day and I will try the mask with yogurt and honey too. All the best with your hair journey! Anushka
The Inversion method. Haha. I did not realize at first how much of an afro it will give you if you massage your scalp for 5 minutes when you have only have 4.5 inches of curly hair. My question is it better to massage it when wet, dry or with oils?
Instant hair thickeners are becoming widely available. Coloured sprays and creams can be used to colour the scalp and give the appearance of thicker hair. Another option is Nanogen, tiny keratin fibres which bind to your hair making it thicker, but wash off easily. These are a more flexible solution that transplants.

I am on a tight budget, so I use regular veg oil, and beeten eggs for protein. When I get back on my feet again, I’ll use the coconut oil, I know it works. Until then what I am using is working, my hair is thicker, shinny, and longer, I have gotten comments on my hair, I’m 50 years old, my hair was thinning and brittle. It takes a while longer, but I’m happy. Now my ex-husband can eat his heart out at my daughter’s wedding in June, cause he loves long hair and mine is growing below my boobs. Lol
If you want to grow strong hair, focus specifically on eating sufficient amounts of clean proteins. It can be quite hard to do this without eating animal proteins, but if you are opting for a vegetarian diet, include plenty of eggs and spirulina. Secondly, eat adequate amounts of vegetables and fermented foods to keep inflammation at bay. Feeding the microbiome with raw and cooked vegetables (especially celery and asparagus) is a plus.
Hi there…sorry to hear that! I like to alternate with the oils. I wash my hair every other day, so when I’m not washing my hair I do the inversion method without any oil and then when I am washing my hair the next morning I will use coconut oil when massaging and leave it overnight. You can adapt the method to suit your needs, for example if you only wash your hair once a week then you can use coconut oil just once, but still do the inversion the rest of the days without oil. I hope that makes sense!
After the therapy, the serum zinc levels increased significantly, and positive therapeutic effects were observed for nine out of 15 patients (66.7 percent). The researchers concluded that zinc supplementation needs to be given to the alopecia areata patients who have a low serum zinc level, and it could even become an adjuvant therapy for patients who didn’t experience results when using traditional therapeutic methods, which is why zinc is one of the most important vitamins for hair growth. At age 50, I get constant comments on my thick, long, shiny hair. You can see my photos on Facebook if you keyword laurel leigh anderson. My hair became thicker, shinier and grew faster when I went on a High Fat Low Carb Ketogenic diet with low starch, and no sugar. (Keyword “Dr. Eric Westman HFLC” on youtube to learn details.) I went on this diet to lose weight, and I lost 44 lbs. but at the same time, something changed regarding the suddenly much faster, thicker hair growth. It was a noticeable but welcome side effect. If you think about it, it makes sense. Hair is made of keratin which is protein and it becomes shiny and well moisturized because of nutritional fats and oils in the diet. Eating a bunch of sugar, and starchy carbs is not helpful to thick, shiny hair. Overconsumption of carbs leads to diabetes which causes hair loss. If you want your hair to grow, you need protein, oils and fats. Hair is damaged by heat from blow drying and hot irons and the natural oils are stripped out by soaps, surfactants and detergents. I also suggest brushing very very gently, starting at the tips and working back upwards to the scalp with a wide tooth hair pick, and do not brush 100 strokes at bed time or anything like that. I also suggest staying away from chemicals, perms, relaxers and weaves. Do not use cheap rubber bands, do not rip chop pull or tug, do not let the beautician “thin” your hair with shears, nor chop and cut. Instead, just give the beauty shop a rest while you focus on your nutritional status at home. If you see a woman with thinning hair, and you talk to her you will soon learn that they are typically type II diabetic and or “insulin resistant.” Men are a different tale because they may simply have male pattern baldness, but in woman there is one main cause for hair loss: diabetes. Many of these hair loss woman are typically overweight yet malnourished, with a non dewey, haggard and worn looking complexion. If you carefully observe such an overweight woman with thinning hair, you will see them eating candy, drinking soft drinks, eating potatoes, french fries, pasta, rice, breads, parties, chips, so on and so forth. The overwhelming carbohydrate load leads to all her problems: her obesity, her diabetes, her malnutrition, and her hair loss. Supplements I recommend for hair growth include Biotin, MCT oil, Multi B Complex vitamins and Omega 3 and D-3. I also don’t think washing the hair a whole lot is a great plan because strip the oils, and dries it out. Washing daily won’t really help the hair to grow, but if you must wash it, just sparingly soap the crown, and do it every second or third day. Personally, I like the “Agadir Argan Oil Shampoo, Conditioner and most of all the Spray Treatment to add shine and hydrate. Some people recommend coconut oil, but natural coconut oil becomes a solid mass at 74 degrees Fahrenheit. If you buy coconut oil, get fractionated coconut oil, so it will pour from the bottle as a liquid. I sometimes do use that, but I prefer Argan oil from Morocco, which I purchase cheaply in bulk. The least expensive is “Dr Adorable” purchased online from Amazon. All the supplements and vitamins I buy for myself are for sale on Amazon.com because I don’t have a car, so I have it all delivered in a box, to my door, with two day shipping. The phases run simultaneously so some hairs on your head will be in the Anagen phase and others in Telogen.  For each hair strand, the Anagen phase should start again once the Telogen phase is complete, but some people may experience longer Telogen phases meaning hair is shedding but no new hair is growing.
Do not use a towel and wring your hair out when you finish washing as this can cause your hair to break. In case you want the hair to grow thick, try to take care of your hair by gently making it dry with a soft towel and then allowing it to air-dry. This natural way is easy and gives great results.
I have tried everything to make my hair grow faster for the past 5 years now, I know it takes patience but everything I try damages and dries it out. I’m uneducated about hair care and I could really use the help because I miss my long locks, anything I can do to speed up the process a little, I heard hemp oil and argan oil are good oils for your hair but I want to help my hair without going extravagant in price

Hi Allys. The inversion method is free and easy to do! Sit down with your head between your legs, and massage your scalp for 10 minutes a day. By the end of the week, you should already have noticed a dramatic increase in length. I hope this helps 🙂
The catagen phase, also known as the transitional phase, allows the follicle to, in a sense, renew itself. During this time, which lasts about two weeks, the hair follicle shrinks due to disintegration and the papilla detaches and “rests,” cutting the hair strand off from its nourishing blood supply. Signals sent out by the body (that only selectively affect 1 percent of all hair of one’s body at any given time) determine when the anagen phase ends and the catagen phase begins. The first sign of catagen is the cessation of melanin production in the hair bulb and apoptosis of follicular melanocytes.[4] Ultimately, the follicle is 1/6 its original length, causing the hair shaft to be pushed upward. While hair is not growing during this phase, the length of the terminal fibers increase when the follicle pushes them upward.

You may start seeing it work in about four months, but it can take up to eight to 12 months to really jumpstart hair growth. It also might irritate your scalp, cause more facial hair to appear, or trigger a rapid heart rate.
I just really need hope that it will eventually get it’s elasticity back and feel, look, and become thicker. Meant to add this to my main comment but accidentally deleted this tab on my browser and lost it.

I came across this site while searching for natural healing for Tendinitis in my arm. That was over five hours ago. I am learning so much from this site and a lot of it I already know to be true so I know I can trust Dr. Josh’s words for the things that I don’t know. Thank you Dr. Josh! You are a blessing on this earth!
