Hi so I just recently donated 10 inches off of my hair to an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients, and my hair is now not even touching my shoulders:( I am also in a wedding the first week of February, and i need my hair to grow FAST for the wedding. But I am afraid these tips are not going to work, or be a waste of time(of which i don’t have a lot of). My hair also sucks to get oil out of so what treatment do you recommend?
as for me… I av a very stubborn hair n a lot of dandruff in my hair. I just started making my hair in may n we r in September bt still my hair seems too slow In growth. I tried relaxing it but it didn’t even relax…. it still luks virgin as usual…. so I dnt know if der could b a different solution to dis problem of mine. I am thinking it’s jst because I am a Nigerian. but still some of us have long hair including my mom. I dnt knw maybe I am not being patient or it is d nature of my hair

Not every time no, Anu. You can alternate the days – one day with oil, one day without and so on. Split ends – prevention is better than cure I’m afraid. Once it’s split longer than 1 cm you can hide the split with serum but it’s best to get regular trims and use a weekly moisturising treatment, avoid heat and so on.
Make a mixture of one mashed avocado, one mashed banana and one tablespoon of olive oil. Massage it on your scalp and leave the mixture on your hair for about 30 minutes so that the nutrients are absorbed by the scalp. Finally, rinse it out and shampoo your hair.
I really appreciate the information on your website regarding hair loss. I have tried the various supplements in your videos and articles for hair loss but I haven’t had much successes at stopping my continued thinning. I am a 45 yo man and while not completely bald yet, I am losing my hair in the typical male pattern of hereditary hair loss. My older brother by about 5 years has lost all his hair on top and I believe I will follow in this condition.
Ive been using warm olive oil all over more about 30mins or even over night. Of course washout in the morning. . Also may-o is another great one and coconut oil. Love it. And i like the vo5 hot oil treatments… its helped so im passing it on ladies enjoy and i hope u like the results i do….

Hi Anushka, I am going to try the inversion method. Thanks for the tip! I already take biotin every day and it sure does help make my hair thicker and healthier – I will double up for the next week to see if that helps with hair growth. I’ve been taking it for a year and a half when I started growing my hair out from a pixie cut – it’s also great for growing and strengthening your fingernails. I started growing out my hair 18 months ago and now it is to my shoulders which is roughly .75 of an inch per month. I’ve had a few trims to shape it up – my hair was almost shaved above my ears so it was like starting my hair growth from scratch. I also drink a lot of water and eat plenty of almonds & avocados because I like their health benefits and I eat plenty of other fruits and veggies. A good diet is key to hair growth. I changed my diet from lots of pasta, rice and sugar and the difference in how I feel is amazing. So is my hair since I changed my diet. It was very difficult to break old habits and to stay away from most sugars and sweets, but it was well worth it for my hair growth and for how good I feel. For my main meal each day, I eat a huge bowl of raw veggie salad like cucumbers (my fave), carrots, celery, peppers, lettuce (optional), olives, sunflower seeds, nuts or anything else that suits my fancy at the time, covered in a salad dressing that I make from vinegar and olive oil with spices or sometimes I eat them naked sans dressing. 🙂 I also eat a small portion of meat, beans or eggs for protein and usually a slice of good bread, but the veggie salad is the biggest part of my meal. Delish! Not only has this been very beneficial for my hair, I’ve trimmed my down waistline without really trying. I have seen a big difference in my hair since changing my diet. It’s thicker, shinier and healthier than ever! I also use coconut, olive oil or argan oil in my hair from time to time and I will add the scalp massage with oil to see if this will also work – I’m excited to see if I can grow my hair an inch or more in a week!
You cannot really stop that. You are welcome to dye your hair, though. A balanced diet and exercise with daily nutrients will additionally keep your hair healthy and might delay some color changes but mostly it’s genetics so you can’t do a lot. It never hurts to focus on keeping your hair healthy though.
I have a pixie cut and I’m getting tired of it, I just want my hair back ( at least to shoulder length ) before Christmas ( thanksgiving even! ) is there any ( cheap) way I could grow it out FAST? I’m in 7th grade and really don’t want a LONG awkward stage of growing out my hair. I know it will look akward at some points but if you could help me shorten that time that would be GREAT!!!
My hair is so thin, it’s embarrassing!! I have a bunch of split ends, it’s frizzy, and WAY TOO THIN! I condition it everytime I wash it, (which at the most is every other day, i know that’s bad), I hardly ever use heat, seriously like NEVER! I always just put it in a braid or a ponytail. But it’s just too thin. What REALLY works? And what is the routine and details that I should use?
Hi Heidi, that’s exactly it. The massage provides increased blood flow to the hair follicle which boosts growth, if you did it constantly then it wouldn’t be as effective. Massage is brilliant for hair health anyway so it won’t hurt to massage your hair daily but if you’re after rapid growth then you need a break in between.

Hi Sarah. It sounds like you achieved really great results with your hair growth. The problem is that hair needs regular maintenance, or else the ends will become unhealthy and split. I’d recommend you to get it cut regularly (a small trim every 2 months) from now on. I hope this helps 🙂

Closed pores are far less vulnerable than open pores so by washing your hair in cold water you’ll help protect your scalp from dirt, grease and oil. If pores are sealed then your hair is more likely to be stronger and shed less. This one step can make a huge difference.
