Hi Beth, it really depends on how thick and long your hair is. I use around half a teaspoon and I have mid-length hair to my shoulders. A little goes a long way though so I would just add a few drops/amounts at a time and massage in. You can always add more.
Dr Nathan Hawkshaw, the project leader for this vital research, noted a proper clinical trial would be needed to confirm if the drug was safe to use on humans, but said it could “make a real difference to people who suffer from hair loss”.
To help boost the method and give your hair an intensive moisturising treatment, every other day or for a few days during the seven, use a natural oil like Coconut Oil, Olive Oil or Argan Oil whilst massaging. If you can, leave it in overnight in a shower cap. More on these oils later.
I have been growing my hair out now it will be about 2 months on the 26th of December. Before reading all the tips and strategies that were suggested i had already been practicing a few that was mentioned. Before my beard amd head hair was very thin and wasnt growing any longer but now my hair is already about 3 inches long. Boiton was a huge factor in my journey. I take the 5000ml biotin pill with a one a day vitamin every day just to cover what my diet may be lacking. I also message my scalp once a day with miss jessies curl conditioner followed with cold water everyday . I will keep you updated on how far my hair comes.
It’s actually a normal thing for hair to fall out. Hair starts its life with a long growing phase, and usually about 80% of our hair is in this phase at any given time. But other hairs are getting ready to leave our heads.
Hi there Xander. I’m glad you had faith to trust out tutorial! We really have had lots of success with it and I hope you do too. The one thing I would mention is that when doing the inversion method, it’s extremely important to hang your head low. This forces blood to rush to the head which helps to stimulate the hair follicles and promote growth. Do let us know how you got on – we can’t wait to see the results! 🙂
I have these really short hairs along my parting at the top of my head That look very odd. They don’t fit in with the rest of my hair(which is shoulder length) and really want to grow them. I don’t know what to do with them while they are growing and they won’t stay in a place. If I just do the inversion method with the coconut oil how long to you with it with take to grow and also is it okay to use hairspray ?
If the client is wanting a more wavy or curly look, I recommend using a 1 to 1 1/2-inch barrel curling iron. Starting in the front, take vertical sections and curl the hair back and away from the face. Once you reach the back of the head, start on the other side of the head and continue to curl the hair away from the face. Allow the curls to set for a minute, then run your fingers through or brush the curls for a softer, more lived-in look.
Hi. Thank you so much for the advice but I was wondering. Did you only use it on the scalp at the roots or do you do all of your hair? How much oil did you use? How much almond oil do you mix with the castor oil? Sorry to bombard you with questions I hope you don’t mind.
Please help. My hair has always been my pride and joy. I figured since it is pretty damn healthy, it could deal with some bleach damage. And I figured the master stylist who did all the color-corrections would know how much would be too much. I was wrong, and now I want to burst into tears every time I look at my hair or touch it. I just don’t know what to do. my hair has also NEVER been shorter than this and it breaks and falls out. What should i do to regrow hair?
Hi Maddie, sorry to hear about your split end woes. I can sympathise because my hair can be very weak and often starts splitting after just one use of the hair straighteners! I would suggest getting a proper trim at your hairdressers to get rid of as many dead ends as possible. Then you can start afresh with your new haircare routine. Follow the tips in the article – eat plenty of protein rich foods, use luke warm water, try the inversion method, use a good oil maybe once a week. This should all help improve the condition of your hair if nothing else.
Hi there, sorry to hear that. I’m afraid I don’t know too much about this condition, but scalp massage will certainly helps stimulate the follicles. Please give it a go and see how you get on, if in any doubt though please see a doctor for professional help.
Nothing but a wig would improve the condition of my thinning hair after a major illness some years ago, but the Tea Tree Shampoo is the best shampoo so far (and I’ve tried quite a few). I’ve been using this shampoo for about a month now and am really pleased with the results. Even my hairdresser commented last week that my hair was looking better than it has for a while and asked what product I was using. It’s packed full of essential oils so the smell is unbelievably good too.
This look is best described as a warm balayage. It’s definitely one of my favorite styles of balayage because I feel the warmer tones, especially the deep color spectrum of brunettes, give you much more dimension.
Spinach is an important vegetable for hair growth because it’s high in protein and vitamins A and C which your body needs in order to produce sebum to moisturise your scalp. A deficiency in these vitamins can result in brittle hair or even hair loss so make sure you are eating plenty of spinach in your diet.
Hi there, you can try all the tips here to see if you can stimulate your scalp. I recommend doing the inversion method with coconut oil – every day for seven days. You can also leave the coconut oil in your hair overnight. Good luck!
Women who are pregnant may feel that their hair is actually growing faster. And women who have just had a baby may feel like they are losing their hair at a faster rate than normal. This is because during pregnancy, the hormone estrogen actually causes a woman to have a higher ratio of hair follicles in the growing phase. After the baby is born, hair follicles return to the “resting” phase, making it appear as if they are shedding hair.
I have a mental disorder that causes me to pull my hair when i’m stressed out or when i have really bad anxiety. I’m wondering if these methods would work. i’m deciding to shave my hair off completely so i can grow even together. but would the methods work?

Hi Charity. It sounds like your hair needs some nourishment! All is not lost, though, coconut oil should soon sort you out. I’d recommend using coconut oil a few times a week, regular trims (to keep your hair healthy and from splitting, which will lead to it shortening) and finally the inversion method to stimulate hair growth. I hope this helps 🙂
I noticed my hair started thinning eight years ago. To have this happen to me, it has been devastating. Now, they have integrated my hair with matching hair and you cannot tell which is mine. I have my life back.
Hi Airyeez, thanks for taking the time to write to me and sharing your thoughts on the article and the tips. I recommend the inversion method a lot (even though I can’t guarantee it will work for everyone) because it’s free, it’s easy to do and it worked for me. I think it’s fairly easy to try out, and there is no cost involved if you do it without oil, so it is my go-to tip! I firmly believe diet is really important too which is why I ask people to follow the tips in the article – some people may not be able to implement all but diet and scalp massage is really beneficial not just for hair growth but healthy hair and body. Good luck with your hair growth, I really hope you’ll notice a difference. Please keep me updated!
I can also recommend using a wire scalp massager like the one below if you prefer. It’s a lot easier and won’t tire out your hands or fingers. Get one for as little as £1.92 from Amazon with free delivery.
Getting regular trims gives you the appearance of having thicker hair. In the long run, regularly trimming the hair also helps your hair grow healthy from root to tip. This is also among the most amazing tips on how to grow thick hair naturally at home in one month that I would like to share in the entire article today and people should not skip at all costs!
“I remember when I decided to go into full-time hair transplant surgery more than 15 years ago, some of my colleagues were telling me not to bother because there would be a cure found any day. But as we know, that hasn’t happened and while you can’t predict what’s going to happen in the future, I’m not convinced we are very close to finding a cure.”
Deep condition your hair by adding five to 10 drops of essential oil to 3 to 4 ounces of castor oil, olive oil, jojoba oil or sunflower oil. Apply the oil to your hair, taking care to cover each strand. Wrap your hair in a towel and let the oil sit for 30 minutes, then shampoo and condition as normal.
I’m trying to grow my hair long as I recently cut my hair and realised that even after one month it didn’t grow. I’m definitely going to try this method out and I’ll come back and tell you if it’s working!
So I may be the only male in this section but what the heck. My hairstyle is the very bland side parting/quiff which I’ve had for years now and I just want a change! I get regular haircuts which may be every 2-3 weeks but it seems that if I leave my hair longer than this it just stops growing on the sides especially. Any tips would be appreciated as I am hoping to just grow the sides to get an evenly proportioned haircut!!
It’s still not entirely clear how minoxidil works. And there’s disagreement about how well it works. Used properly — twice a day, massaged deep into the scalp — it slows new hair loss. It also promotes new hair growth, although experts disagree about how much.
Anushka do you have to put your head back or forwards when doing the inversion method? I’m a little confused ? Like would it still work if you hang your head off the bed facing the ceiling or the floor? I’m assuming the floor cause that way you can feel the blood rushing to your head more than the other way? Thank you some great tips can’t wait to try them! ???
