Oh no sorry to hear that, how frustrating for you! I definitely recommend the scalp massage using some natural oils like coconut or olive oil. Try this every day for 5 minutes once a day for a week and let me know how you get on.
I am a survivor all of my hair was gone and it is coming back ,but very slow.I have some organic flax oil with lignans can I use that? I really want my hair back, because I do not like the mascular look. Thank God for you
Spinach is an important vegetable for hair growth because it’s high in protein and vitamins A and C which your body needs in order to produce sebum to moisturise your scalp. A deficiency in these vitamins can result in brittle hair or even hair loss so make sure you are eating plenty of spinach in your diet.
Hi Beth, it really depends on how thick and long your hair is. I use around half a teaspoon and I have mid-length hair to my shoulders. A little goes a long way though so I would just add a few drops/amounts at a time and massage in. You can always add more.
I am 13, I need to grow out my hair. But I hear many people have acne issues due to biotin. Acne isn’t really a problem for me, but I hate it so muuucccchhhhhh. I am also a bit worried to use coconut oil for the inversion method because of my age my skin is oily already. Any ideas?
Avoid chemical based shampoo, conditioner and styling products. Most hair products contain chemicals that are effective at cleaning your hair but may cause much damage. Some people aren’t affected by these chemicals, but if you’re worried about thinning hair, it’s best to avoid them.
I would describe this look as a subtle, balayage highlighted bob. This guest had a very dark natural base, so my favorite part is that I was able to give her some dimension and lightness without taking away from her beautiful dark hair.
I will definitely be trying this advice. My hair is currently at my waist, but my man would love for it to reach my ankles lol. My issues are dry brittle hair that also falls out easily. I love extremely hot showers and am certainly not looking forward to the cold rinse, but if it does nothing but stop it from falling out so easy, it’s definitely worth a try. Thanks for the advice. I’m also amazed at the amount of people still asking, How do I make my hair grow faster?” Um, try actually reading the article, or if needed, read it again.
The range of treatments and therapies available to combat hair loss has increased dramatically in the past 10 years, from natural-look prosthetics to hair-thickening sprays and the transplants, which can cost between €10k and €20k.
Hi I’m jamaican..will the method work with my hair . I had beautiful hair once but I cought Dandruff’s and it droped off and after years of doctors treatment and everything it won’t grow so what will I suggest. Its been like this for 7 years now
Hi there, I’m so sorry to hear you’re feeling this way. Don’t worry, it will grow back! If you do the inversion method just once a month, but you can continue with the rest of the tips. Protein is excellent for healthy hair.
Didn’t we tell you to be careful of layers? They can hurt as much as they help. Case in point: In an attempt to take out some of your massive hair’s weight and girth, a stylist chomped at your locks with one of these tools, leaving them frizzier and damaged.
Hey, I have really curly hair and I used to hate it a lot so I would straighten my hair everyday and it’s my biggest regret cuz I fried my hair… I want to regrow it and I’ve tried everything possible. What is you main recommendation to get my hair length back
My hair actually changes color. It is sometimes red, sometimes brown, and sometimes blond. I don’t know what color it is. It’s naturally very curly, but not ringlets, spirals. It is very, very, soft. It’s not thick or thin. But ever since I was a child I wanted really, really long hair. But it always stops and gets course once it’s a centimeter above my elbow. It just always stops. And I want to grow it long for once. I don’t really know much about hair care, am low budget, and don’t have much time. I’m vegetarian, and I’m a competitive swimmer, so I have to swim in chlorine 5 days a week. I’m clueless! Please help!
This is a great article, thank you for the additional tips. I already use a great sulfur oil from consciousessence.com that gives me about an inch growth a month so I’ll try the inversion to see if I can get even more growth 🙂 I am really excited and can’t wait to try.
The best way to get thick hair is to apply 10-20 drops of almond or coconut oil daily. Wash your hair 2-3 times a week and never use heated styling tools like blow dryers or straighteners. Boost hair growth by cutting off dead ends. For lifestyle tips and treatment tricks, read on!
Hi Meredith. It sounds to me like the chlorine is definitely damaging your hair. Are you using a water-tight cap when swimming? Additionally, are you having it cut regularly? Chlorine will damage your hair, making it more prone to splitting. Regular haircuts will prevent this. I would recommend using a weekly hair treatment, such as coconut oil or a specific hair mask from LUSH to reinject nutrients back into your hair. I hope this helps. Thanks, Steph
Hi. Thank you so much for the advice but I was wondering. Did you only use it on the scalp at the roots or do you do all of your hair? How much oil did you use? How much almond oil do you mix with the castor oil? Sorry to bombard you with questions I hope you don’t mind.
These are just some of the many hairstyles you can try you on your thick hair. I hope they’ve inspired you to mix and match them or even create other styles! You have awesome hair. It’s your asset. Flaunt it!
As we discussed earlier, hair begins to grow from the root in the bottom of the follicle which is made up of cells of protein. So to make it simple – we need to eat a protein-rich diet, but for faster hair growth you need need to be making sure you’re eating Biotin-rich foods too in order to facilitate the building blocks of protein.
I am on a tight budget, so I use regular veg oil, and beeten eggs for protein. When I get back on my feet again, I’ll use the coconut oil, I know it works. Until then what I am using is working, my hair is thicker, shinny, and longer, I have gotten comments on my hair, I’m 50 years old, my hair was thinning and brittle. It takes a while longer, but I’m happy. Now my ex-husband can eat his heart out at my daughter’s wedding in June, cause he loves long hair and mine is growing below my boobs. Lol
The study found that when people were shown photographs of bald men and asked to estimate how old they were, they added an average of three years and nine months to the men’s actual age. Men with a full head of hair had an average of two years and five months taken off.
Women who are pregnant may feel that their hair is actually growing faster. And women who have just had a baby may feel like they are losing their hair at a faster rate than normal. This is because during pregnancy, the hormone estrogen actually causes a woman to have a higher ratio of hair follicles in the growing phase. After the baby is born, hair follicles return to the “resting” phase, making it appear as if they are shedding hair.
I feel like I have unhealthy hair since I haven’t really looked after it well. I’ve tried these methods but due the way it is it doesn’t work. I’m wondering if I should cut it into some sort of of bob even though my hair only reaches my shoulders or maybe a centimetre or two above it. Will cutting my hair make it grow longer and healthier or is shaving a better option?
Hi Allys. The inversion method is free and easy to do! Sit down with your head between your legs, and massage your scalp for 10 minutes a day. By the end of the week, you should already have noticed a dramatic increase in length. I hope this helps 🙂
Hi Caroline, really sorry to hear what happened with your hair – I bet it was painful! Have you tried a clip-in fringe for the time being? They look realistic and will help hide the spot. You could try some scalp massage when the skin has healed too.
There’s been a revolution in biology. Armed with powerful new tools, scientists are learning how to read the complex chemical languages of the body, including how to coin new treatments for hair loss.
If the client is wanting a more wavy or curly look, I recommend using a 1 to 1 1/2-inch barrel curling iron. Starting in the front, take vertical sections and curl the hair back and away from the face. Once you reach the back of the head, start on the other side of the head and continue to curl the hair away from the face. Allow the curls to set for a minute, then run your fingers through or brush the curls for a softer, more lived-in look.
You can also make a hydrating hair mask by mixing two tablespoons of wheatgerm oil with half of a ripe mashed avocado. Apply this hair mask on freshly shampooed hair and allow it to sit for at least 20 minutes. Rinse your hair thoroughly and then shampoo your hair.
Hello, I just found your blog and was interested in your thoughts. My hair seems grows pretty fast, I’ve had it short for the past 4 years and the cut usually gets messy after about 8 weeks. This drives me nuts, previously I always had long hair and found it easier to manage. Now I want to grow it out quickly and I’ve noted your comments on coconut, argon and olive oils but was curious as I’ve seen no one mention cold pressed castor oil. I’ve found this fantastic for my eyelashes and started using it for its rejuvenating and growing properties. I would have thought the properties in it that are useful for lashes ie the nutrients and folicle stimulation would work the same with hair. The cold pressed castor oil seems to be valued higher for eyelash growth than the other three oils that are mentioned here for hair. Just wondering, lol, discuss.
Some of the common factors contributing to thinning hair are excessive physical or emotional stress, hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, pollution, allergies, use of wrong hair care products, poor hair care routine, and heredity.
Hi Katie. Firstly, now you’ve got some length back, it’s imperative that you keep your hair in good condition. This means, regular cuts, and nourishing hair treatments (coconut oil, natural masks etc). I’d also recommend brushing your hair regularly, as this stimulates hair follicles, and, furthering this, the inversion method. Good luck in your quest. 🙂
Can help u so use olive oil or any type of oil soak the oil in your hair for at least 20-30 min this will prevent no itchy scalp or thin hair wash the oil out or leave it in overnight them wash with a mild shampoo and will be as light as a feather thanks hope this comment/suggestion worked bye xxxxx ??????
