Hi Beth, it really depends on how thick and long your hair is. I use around half a teaspoon and I have mid-length hair to my shoulders. A little goes a long way though so I would just add a few drops/amounts at a time and massage in. You can always add more.

To put it plainly, thick refers to the actual width of a single strand of hair, while density is how closely packed the hair follicles are on your scalp. Hair can have high density, which is when there’s a lot of strands growing near each other, or have low density, which is when the follicles are more spaced out on the scalp. Usually, straight strands tend to be denser than tight curls or afro hair.

On the 20th of December 2017, I was playing with my short, dried hair (which was on average 1 inch) in the front of my head but I accidentally tangled it so bad that I had to cut it off with a pair of stationnary scissors. Limit how often you wash your hair if it’s more dry & course wash it once a week , if it’s more on the greasy side wash it 2 – 3 times a week , I have noticed the difference in my hair by washing it less.

Just a thought to all of those posting with thinning hair. First, have a blood test. Be sure your thyroid is not off wack. This solved part of my problem. But, my hair was damaged from weaves and stess. Now my hair is shoulder length, I insist on only 5 foils when I need a bit of a color lift. Hairdressers (if the are good), will do this for you at a reduced rate. On a trip to France I started using L’occitane hair repair shampoo in the hotel. My hair was thicker. Came home and started using their products for damaged hair. Expensive, but worth it. But, better still….I tried the banana & oilve old hair mask a month ago. This is even better (in terms of results) than L’occitane hair products. Now I use the banana, oilve oil hair mask a couple of times a week. It is simple and inexpensive. Forget the hair extensions. I am 65 and my hair is thicker and healthier than it was in my 40’s. I have fine blond hair. I have tried 100′s of products. Some hairdressers over process. (if you ask for a weave, ask for 5 foils, not a partial or full weave) avoid over processing. And, do not use that hot flat iron on your hair.
Hey there, dandruff and an unhealthy scalp could be contributing to your hair problems. I would start with trying to get rid of the dandruff, there are quite a few over-the-counter treatments or you could find a natural remedy (apple cider vinegar perhaps?) to help. It’s really important to maintain a healthy scalp so I would recommend doing this, cutting back on how many times you wash your hair as if you wash it more frequently it could make the problem worse. Try a little head massage every few days too, drink plenty of water and a healthy balanced diet with plenty of protein. Hi Em, I can only recommend the Inversion Method which states you should massage for 7 days every 4 weeks. Scalp massage is always beneficial, but for rapid growth I think you should stick to the 7 days and see how it works for you. Cutting out heat and eating a rich protein diet will certainly help.
